I am sure you have considered that these were the Civil War years......perhaps Thomson was recruited to work for the war effort either for the Confederacy or for the Union in another foundry. Many men from Campbell Co., KY found on BOTH sides of the war. There were at least 10 or 12 from Flag Springs area that went to VA and enlisted for the CSA. One of them was a member of the Beagle family. I found him on a list of SCA imprisoned "deserters". Perhaps she didn't want to move away while he was on duty away from home. Just a thought......his skill was valuable to the war effort and 1863 was right in the middle of the war. Just a thought..... Karen Beagle
