    1. Re: [KYCAMPBE] Re: SUTTONS OF KY
    2. Here is a little about the SUTTON family as it is connected to the BLAGRAVE, KENNEDY, and other Campbell Co. families who came from VA. I have been contacted about the SUTTON family by someone else. Here was my reply. Hi there, Somewhere I have a bunch of information sent to me on the DICKEN, BLAGRAVE, SUTTON, and ANDERSON families of VA. Our connection was back to JOSEPH DICKEN who married Mary Jane SUTTON b. VA on Jan 21, 1788 probably in Mercer Co., KY. They later settled in Campbell County. I transcribed the basics into my notes for Joseph Dicken.  Here it is.  These families all intermarried. "After their father's death, Charles (Dicken)was placed under the guardianship of an older brother RICHARD (Dicken), while Joseph was under an overseer until June 1779 When he enlisted to fight the British.  Joseph was among those at Yorktown. Joseph and his brother Charles came to Mercer County, KY the county seat being Harrodsburg, where Joseph married  Mary Jane SUTTON on Jan 21, 1788.  the SUTTON family had also come from VA. Soon after this (about 1798) they all (BLAGRAVE, KENNEDY, DICKEN, and ANDERSON) moved to Campbell County, KY where ROBERT SUTTON's heir's, his 3 daughters, and their husbands, and his widow, ANN BLAGRAVE, laid claim to his 1,168 and 1/2 acres Land Warrant given earlier to ROBERT SUTTON by the Governor Edmond Randolf of VA on Aug 14, 1782.  (this claim is the Kennedy Claim on Well's Creek adjacent to the William Thompson claim on Well's Creek of our Thompson/Beagle family). This is now called Flagg Spring area. This information is published in a book with various KY families in it.  I was sent the portion dealing with the DICKEN family and related's.  For now......Karen Beagle
