Vonderhaar spent a lot of time raising money for Catholic schools. ''She was a very energetic woman,'' said a son, John J. Vonderhaar of Edgewood. ''If something needed to be done, she just jumped in and did it. She was a doer.'' Mrs. Vonderhaar, 83, of Villa Hills, died at 2:20 p.m. Sunday at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in Villa Hills. She was a homemaker and a retired receptionist with St. Luke Hospital East, Ft. Thomas. She also was a member of St. Anthony Church, Bellevue, and founded the Mothers Clubs at LaSallette Academy, Newport Catholic High School and St. Anthony Elementary School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her son said. Mrs. Vonderhaar raised three children, took care of a retarded uncle, raised a nephew, and cared for an invalid grandmother, Mr. Vonderhaar said. ''She didn't have many idle hours,'' Mr. Vonderhaar said. ''Her grandchildren were her joy.'' Mrs. Vonderhaar's husband, Bernard D. Vonderhaar, died in 1963. Other survivors include sons, Bernard R. Vonderhaar of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Howard E. Poehner of Bellevue; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas. Memorials are suggested to the nursing home, 2344 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills 41017, or Diocesan Catholic Children's Home, P.O. Box 17007, Ft. Mitchell 41017.
