This is from the Rus Stevens Papers at the Campbell Co. Historical Society: FERGIS GERMAN b. Sept 22, 1802 married CYNTHIA THOMPSON on April 18, 1825. He was the son of WM GERMAN and JANE CATLETT GOSNEY. She was the daughter of WM THOMPSON, Sr. and NANCY DRINKARD. THOMPSON's were the ones who gave the 1 acre of land from their 1000 Acre Patent for the Flag Springs Baptist Church to be built in 1833. Flag Springs Baptist Church was constituted in 1833. Fergis German aquired 800 ares from the WM KENNEDY Estate which joined WM THOMPSON's 1000 acres on the West (Flag Springs). Wesley Chapel is located on the 800 Acre Tract. In 1841, FERGIS GERMAN, a trustee and charter member of Flag Springs Baptist Church led 32 members of Flag Springs congregation to Constitute the 2nd Twelve Mile Baptist Church at Peach Grove on the Washington Rd. (This is now known as the PEACH GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH). GERMAN was Licensed to Preach in 1841. He was ordained to Preach in 1843 by JOHN STEPHENS, WILLIAM MORIN, adn JAMES SPILMAN of the Baptist Association. The 2nd Twelve Mile Church (PEACH GROVE) was constituted on May 8, 1841. Most of the records are under the name of 2nd Twelve Mile Baptist Church. This name was picked because the 12 Mile Baptist Church, founded in 1818 was the Parent Church of the Flag Springs Church in Flag Springs. Peach Grove was the 2nd such church plant. Members of the BEAGLE and THOMPSON families were found in all three churches, Twelve Mile, and Flag Springs, and Second Twelve Mile (Peach Grove). FERGIS GERMAN preached at Peach Grove (2nd Twelve Mile), also 11 years at Falmouth Church of Pendleton Co., KY. In 1855 he moved to Jackson Co., MO for 8 years, then moved back to Campbell County, KY in 1863. He died July 30, 1879 and is buried at the Peach Grove Church Cemetery
