While doing my research I have come up with two files. The first one being the "The Sasher Family File". And the second being "The Sasher Want-a-Be File". At the present time Tera Ramey Sasher is in my want-a-be file. I am trying very hard to locate information that would enable me to transfere her from one file to another. Would you happen to know what year Raymond was born? Would you happen to know who his parents or grand parents were? And if you would be so kind would you also send me her children names. Would it be possible to talk with any of these children about tying there side of the family in with the rest of the Sasher's (Sesher's). I truly appreciate your help. Dave
Hi Jane, Where did your person live in Campbell County? It is possible I can help but let me give you and anyone else reading this a quick overview of local death records. Death "Cerificates" are issued by the state of Kentucky and cover the period of 1911 until present day. Last I looked they were $9 per certificate. However several Kentucky libraries have the cetificates over 50 years old on microfilm. The Kenton County library has 1911 through 1953 (1954?) on microfilm meaning you can get a copy for 10 cents. However, all is not lost if looking for a pre-1911 death record. The City of Newport made lists of deaths from 1884 -1928 with occasional gaps in coverage. Some years show more information then others. Some years seem to be mainly Newport residents but other years show some"out of town" deaths. The Kenton County library also has those on microfilm. You will also find some very limited Bellevue death records from about 1896-1904(?). Covington (Kenton County) also has death records from that era. And just to be complete, there are some very limited lists of deaths from the 1850s and mid 1870s for Campbell County. Let me know who you are looking for and your best estimate of the date of death and I will see what I can find. Their two sons were John W. PICKETT and Beal PICKETT. There could possibly be a PICKETT-BEAL marriage somewhere, as BEAL/BEALL/BEALE is a well-known surname. Beal's marriage license stated he was born in Kenton Co, KY. Hezekiah & Mary moved to Randolph Co, IL, where both sons and a daughter were married. No death or burial records can be found in randolph Co, IL for Hezekiah or Mary Ann/Alice PICKETT. John W. PICKETT walked out on his wife, Eliza (WILEY), and four children in the 1890's and was never heard from again. Would love to know what happened to him. Willing to share any info I have with anyone researching the same names or family.

I was born in Speers Hospital 7 June 1938. I can assure you that it was in Dayton, Campbell County, Ky. At that time Speers was the only hospital in Campbell County. It was founded from a $200000 bequest in the will of Capt. Charles Speers who died in 1894. The site was located between 4th and 5th Streets north and south and between Main and Boone Streets east and west. Its first patient was admitted about three years later. Unfortunately the hospital was located very near the flood plain of the Ohio River and during the flood of 1937 all patients had to be evaluated. It was a dark brick building not very tall (maybe four stories at the most). I can remember several times when flood waters completely surrounded the building but it was located on high ground and fortunately it survived. My grandmother, Sadie Grismore Wittenberg was one of the last people to die in Speers hospital. She died on 19 Feb 1973. That's the last time I visited the hospital. The hospital finally closed for good later in 1973. By that time a new hospital, St Luke's in Ft Thomas, had been built. Bill
