    1. George Thomas Phillips (1856-1944)
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gAB.2ACI/2002 Message Board Post: Seeking information about George Thomas Phillips (1856-1944), son of George Cox Phillips of England (1804-1881). George Thomas Phillips married Mary ? circa 1878 and had 5 children, 4 surviving, 3 known. Their known children are George b. 1879, Laura b. 1881, and Anna Frances (May?) b. 1897. They lived in Cold Springs. I believe that Mary died in 1911 and George remarried based on a 1930 census entry for a Thomas Phillips 74 yrs old with younger wife and two teenage children. This Thomas is born in the right year and says that his father was born in England. George Thomas Phillips died on 7 Dec 1944 in Campbell County.

    3. The Internet shows: TRINITY BAPTIST CHURCH, 510 PARK AVENUE, NEWPORT KY 41071 859-581-9197 I didn't find an official church web page. I am not sure based on your e-mail if Margaret moved back to Kentucky but I can find no record of Margaret Chamberlin in Kentucky death records, marriage records or the local newspaper index. You might try checking the Social Security death index for her. A search of city directories could also narrow down the death date. Kentucky Birth records show Margaret had 3 kids: William E. Chamberlin born 11/11/1919 in Campbell County. Margorie Chamberlin born 3/16/1921 in Campbell County. Robert E. Chamberlin born 1/12/1923 in Campbell County. The newspaper index shows the obituary of Robert E. Chamberlin in the Kentucky Post on October 3, 1925. He is listed in Ohio death records as dying 10/2/1925 in Hamilton County (Cincinnati) so I am guessing he died in a Cincinnati hospital. 3. Ernest M. Chamberlin/Margaret (Clifton) Chamberlin are enumerated in the 1920 and 1930 Campell County, KY census records - Cote Brilliante and Dayton respectively. They have children: William E., who is 2 months in the 1920 census and William E. and Marjorie, who is 8 in the 1930 census - both children born in KY. Apparently shortly after the 1930 census they moved to Cincinnati, OH. Ernest M. died there 21 June 1970. According to church records, Mrs. Margaret B. Chamberlin moved her membership from Central Baptist Church, Amelia, OH to Trinity Baptist Church, 5th and Park, Newport, KY 14 March 1972. Can anyone tell me if this church is still active? I think Margaret Chamberlin probably passed away within a few years, but I cannot find a record. Any help or suggestions for search would be appreciated. Flavia Hodges, San Pablo, CA

    1. Baker DNA
    2. James R. Baker, Jr. (jrbakerjr)
    3. Are you a Baker family researcher? If so, I ask you, please, take a DNA test. A larger database is needed, especially for North Kentucky Bakers. So far, in North Kentucky, people who's research indicated that they were descended from the following lines have been tested: 1. The Joshua/Nicholas Baker line from Campbell Co. 2. An unknown Baker family who arrived in Kenton Co. around 1840. 3. The Andrew Baker family of Grant Co. 4. The Edwin Baker family of Boone Co. 5. The John and Mary (Wason) Baker family of Campbell Co. Only one from each line has been tested. We need more. One big surprise was that the Andrew and Edwin people matched, which means that they have a common Baker Ancestor. The unknown Baker family of Kenton matched the Andrew-John Renta Baker line who are mostly in the Madison Co. area. The cost is about a hundred dollars for the basic 12 marker test, and it's simple. They send you a test kit, you swab the inside of your cheek, put the swab in the bottle and mail it back. They run the lab test and give you a series of 12 markers. If your numbers match someone else's numbers, then you have a common Baker ancestor. This is a Y Chromosome test. The Y Chromosome is passed from father to son, so only a male named Baker can take the test. Female researchers often pay for a male Baker relative to take the test for them. Hundreds of Bakers have been tested. I have no financial interest in this, I'm just an avid Baker researcher who has taken the test.
