Hi there, I don't have anything on ARTEMUS BEACH but I do have a BEACH marriage about this time frame for another BEACH in Campbell County. BENJAMIN BEACH to PATSY ANDERSON on May 2, 1846. This is the only Beach marriage for Campbell Co. that I have in my data base, probably because of an Anderson connection. Perhaps he could be a brother? Maybe they are on the 1850 Census for Campbell Co? Hope this helps. Karen Beagle

They were on the 1850 Campbell Co. census - Artenius 50, Mary (Minerva)22, Permelia 3, and Sarah 1. Minerva was most likely his second wife as there was an 1823 marriage in Clermont Co. OH of Artemus Beach and Hannah McCollester. In 1829 he was a witness for the marriage (in Campbell Co.) of Robert Hays and Mary Clark. Artemus may have died 1858-1860 as Minerva and 3 daughters Pamelia 13, Sarah 11, and Eliza 1 were in Clermont Co. OH in 1860. Any info on this family would be appreciated!! Thanks, Cheryl

Yah I have been there and done that but when I got to the court house and discovered how many different books for the same years, it is not a wonder that some were missed. Even the original copies in the file boxes do not match what is in those microfilm. Yes.....sometimes the minister of the gospel and/or the local placename was listed. These are available throught your local Morman center. You do not need to be a member to use their research libraries. Most towns and cities in America have at least one. You can order the microfilm for campbell Co. (and the years) from their microfish catelogue. I think they cost $3.00 each and come fairly quickly. They hold them for a number of weeks and then get sent back. It is fun to see the originals. I did find a chunk of about 8 months missing from the early 1830's. Don't know what happened to them, but the ministers had tried to fill in the gaps by going back in the records and making some substitution submissions. (flood damage? fire? stolen?). I wanted to verify a Campbell County marriage for FRANCIS THOMPSON to CON BEAGLE (found in a Bible entry with other THOMPSON entries). It was for December 20, 1821. It was not there and the entries for about 7 months were completely missing. However, for the time period before and after, they are there. Since the other marriages in the Bible are accurage, I am going to assume that this one is as well. Also......you can get CDRom 229 Southern Marriages at many libraries and Genealogy societies (our local chapter has it, so does our Seattle Public library). They have all of the marriages from 1789-1850 on that disc. It has the information, just not the scanned entry in the original. Hope this helps.
