I believe I cover Helm also since Josiah Herbert Sr. of Hunterdon Co NJ/Loudoun Co VA married (2) Margaret "Peggy" Helm about 1792. Although Herbert came to New Jersey at an early date, a few of the modern-day Herbert researchers have tracked the family back to Wales. Herbert of VA not believed related. Pat D.

Also, GenLinks contains some history of both 4-Mile and 12-Mile Churches. url: http://www.spaldinggeneallogy.com Hannah A. Herbert Spalding's father was Rev. Josiah Herbert, minister at Spencer Baptist Church. Aaron Spaulding, h/o Hannah Herbert, was a deacon at 12-Mile. Jean Houston of Florence KY has published articles on both churches. While on the detour we came upon an absolutely beautiful country church building called 12 Mile Baptist. It was such a pleasant stop that we sat there for several minutes just admiring it. It is definitely still up and running, as they say. Just to let you know it is still there, very interesting.

    1. Re: [KYCAMPBE] Robt. Moulton, Gilham, Walker
    2. I looked up MOULTON in my data base, no luck. I looked up GILHAM for Campbell County and BINGO! a THOMAS GILHAM, his wife ANN, and a ROBERT GILHAM are on the Four Mile Baptist Membership Roster for the time period 1814-1820. (along with the THOMPSON, BEAGLE, MITCHELL and other early pioneer families.) One of their sons was JOHN GILHAM who married ANNA MITCHELL June 22, 1818 in Campbell Co. (her father was THOMAS MITCHELL) Another son was ROBERT GILHAM. Perhaps ELIZABETH who married Robt MOULTON was another daughter. Another marriage for ELIZABETH GILHAM to JOHN R JOHNSON on Sept 09, 1850. (don't know if this is same one or not). I looked up WALKER and came up with BENJAMIN WALKER born 1781 died Dec.11, 1837. He is buried at the Flag Springs Baptist Church Cemetery (from church records). Wife is not known, no known wife is buried in Flag Springs, but is possible as some early graves not marked or slid down the hillside. Partial List of children: ANDREW WALKER b. March 1, 1792 died Feb 11, 1856 buried Cold Springs Baptist Church. JOHN CRURY WALKER born 1805 (wife Susan) buried Cold Springs Baptist Church MATILDA WALKER born 1805 died June 23, 1828 buried Flag Springs Baptist Church. AUGUSTA WALKER born ca. 1810 MARY WALKER bonr 1812 died Dec 31, 1837 buried Flag Springs Baptist Church. Another daughter could be the ELIZABETH WALKER wife of ROBERT MOULTON. Looks like the parents were connected to Flag Springs Baptist Church. At least two sons, ANDREW and JOHN, relocated to Cold Springs Baptist Church area. These families all knew each other well from the Baptist Association meetings. The Four Mile, Twelve Mile, Flag Springs, and Cold Springs Baptist families would all have had contact with one another at various church meetings and events. Hope this helps and/or gives you some leads. Sincerely, Karen Beagle

    2. I have some records for a JOHN WYNE who came from ENG to MD in the 1600's. Many of the WYNN and WYNE and WINE of VA, MD, TN, KY, etc. go back to this group. This is not the German MICHAEL WINE group also found in VA in the 1700's. If you are interested, I can send you a copy of my WYNN report for the first generations. I don't have your William in my data base, but could give you some earlier information, it may give you some leads. Sincerely, Karen Beagle We have RICHARD WINE of VA in our line. We believe the name was changed from WYNE going back to this same JOHN WYNE of MD.

They hopped over the state/county line and married in Hamilton Co. Ohio, likely because it was expensive to marry in KY. Another Thomas, of the same Jones family, married my Mary Stockham, born 1841, - a niece of William and Ann (Jones) Stockam - and they all lived in Kansas by 1860. I am trying to find the ancestors of my 3rd Great Grandparents and their relatives. They were Martha Priscilla BRAKE and Reverend William W. WYNN. This is what I do know about this couple and their descendants. Reverend William W. WYNN was born about 1817 in Tennessee. He married Martha Priscilla BRAKE who was born in August, 1821, in Trigg County, Kentucky. She died 30 December 1905 . William died on 26 April 1897. The couple had at least 2 children: 1. Nannie Catherine “Katie” WYNN 2. William B. WYNN According to the 1880 census, both of William’s parents were born in Tennessee. Both the 1880 and 1900 censuses state that both of Martha’s parents were also born in Tennessee. William W. WYNN, wife Priscilla and son William B. were enumerated on the 1880 Census in Elizabethtown, Hardin County, Kentucky. Martha was living with her daughter Katie and her husband C.C. BORAH in Cromwell, Ohio County, Kentucky in the 1900 Census. Cromwell was my mother’s birthplace. Although I may not have the family specifically located in this county, I know from Kentucky birth and death indices that several members of either family have resided here. My Wynn family seems to have been on the move a lot. Thank you in advance for any help. My e-mail address is [email protected] Debbie Kaelin

    3. I am so sorry I have the wrong county it should have read Kenton and should have been posted to Kenton. . Please forgive my slightly scattered genealogical brain. This James H. Taulbee was the father of John J " Boots" Taulbee that was prominent in both counties a "Peck's Bad Boy" so to speak but then what is a family without the skeletons in the closet. . Happiest of Holidays to all and forgive me again. . I will post to the correct county. You posted that your James H Taulbee was in Campbell county for the 1900 census. I just looked for him and did not find a James Taulbee in that county; in fact, I even looked by the name James so as to see if his last name might have been misspelled & I did not find him at all. Are you sure it's the 1900 census you found him in? If so, which county was it & how was his last name spelled? In looking through census records, I found two James H Taulbees in KY (state overall), one 4 years old and the other w/a wife but no kids yet. I found several James Taulbees (leaving the H) off in KY as a whole but I did not know enough information about your gentleman to be able to tell if one was him. After seeing the listing of James, I did a search for a Taulbee who would have been about 4 (your gr gmother whom you said was 4 on the 1900 census); this resulted in even more Taulbee children being listed & I did not know your ggm's name. Could you post a bit more information about your family? When was your James born? What were the names of his family members? And, what was that listing you had him in (the one where you said he's w/his entire family & your ggm was 4)? If you can put through a bit more about your folks, I'll look again. Pavla Chandler, TX

    3. I am searching for information on the death of James H. Taulbee who I believed died in Campbell County after the Federal Census of 1900. In that census he is listed with his entire family at 227 Crescent Ave. At that time my gr grandmother was 4. I cannot find him after that. If anyone has any information on this family or can point in the right direction to take I would be grateful. . Happy Thanksgiving to all. .
