    1. Re: [KYCAMPBE] Request re Wedding Ring
    2. Campbell County wedding bonds have been filmed by LDS and the films can be ordered through your local LDS Center. They have their resources by KY, then county, on microfiches. I have ordered the marriages films for 1818-1822 and received them just fine. You can look up the Roll which includes the year you want to search and order it for $3.00. This is NOT the original certificate, but does give proof of the intention of marriage, who signed the bond, sometimes gives a parent or two. Karen Beagle

    1. Re: [KYCAMPBE] Marriage Records
    2. Hi all, As far as I know, most of the available Campbell Co. marriage bonds have been filmed. You can go to a local LDS research center and look up Campbell Co. on their microfiche, and everything on Campbell Co. in listed there. The CD ROM #229 Southern Marriages (which includes KY) from 1789-1850 is complete (at least from all the available records that could be found in both Courthouses). I have copied off all of the GROOMS marriages from this and have it in paper form for Campbell County. It was so thick, I did not copy off the Brides list, because I knew I could go back and do lookups when necessary. Karen Beagle

    3. Jan, You might also try the county assessor's office......at least here in our county, many times they have an old photo or two of the buildings and of course, the chain of ownership. Our local library also has large books containing newspaper clippings on our historic homes. Check both of these. Good luck with this fun project!! I tried calling Campbell County where the marriage records are located, but they said I've have to come in for this request. I don't know how the marriages are filed, but I'm looking for all the people married on June 26, 1901 in Campbell County....I don't figure it could be too many, but I know this would only work if the marriages are filed by date, not name. I have a wedding ring engraved with that date. My grandmother and grandfather used to run the bar at the foot of the hill down from St. Joe's in Camp Springs.. I've been wearing this ring since 1970...she said a man left it with her for payment of beer and he never came back. I've always wanted to put a name to this couple! If someone would happen to be where the marriages are recorded, and IF they are recorded by date, would anyone be willing to look this up?? Thanks so much. We have just purchased a building on the corner of Washington & Main Streets in Alexandria, KY. This space will now house, in part, the new office of Signal Networking, a computer business owned by my husband & his partner. After some work to the interior & hopefully opening up the windows that have been covered with siding, I would like to work some photos/written history/memorabilia of the building's earlier days into the decor. I am requesting historical information, photographs, etc. that anyone may have relating to this building. I visited the historical society today & found a great picture of the building from the 40's which I hope to get a copy of. Also, from Elizabeth - a wonderful volunteer, I was given the brief history of ownership mentioned above. She is working on getting more detailed info for me, but please feel free to add to this!
