My friends - It is has been brought to my attention that much time can be saved by using the search function of the new JP Surnames database site. There is a box in the upper right corner which has a "Find" button pointing to it. If you enter the surname you are wishing to view, it will bring the data for that surname up in a fraction of the time it takes to load the full database. Also, if your surnames are not already in the database, please DO NOT add new records to the database in which all of the surnames you wish to post are placed in just that one record. A SEPARATE "New Record" screen needs to be used for EACH surname you wish to add. If we do not enter these surnames in this individual fashion, it will severely affect the alphabetizing scheme. While the search feature would probably bring up the surnames, even if in the same field, we still need each surname in its own, separate field in order to peruse the entire database in alphabetical order, and to allow the maximum number of people to post their addresses without starting another field for that surname. Thanks - we've had over 800 entries so far today - really phenomenal. I have been contacted by a number of folks who tell me that they have already contacted - or been contacted by - others on the site who are researching the same family surname(s). It appears it is working well for the purposes we had in mind. -B =================================================================
