Regarding some posts last month discussing Stewart County migrations to Hood County Texas, be aware cable channel HGTV (Home & Garden TV) has a special at 9 PM (CDT) to-nite (4/30) filmed at Davy Crockett's widow's ranch in Hood County. Elizabeth moved to Texas about 1875 to settle on a land grant given her by the State of Texas, and there might be outdoor scenes which would show some of the terrain similarities and differences with Stewart County; her original house is supposedly still standing.
