    3. My friends - After having talked about the JP 1880 Proctor Map over the past few days(and I have had requests for more than 70 of them and the requests are still coming in), I now have the good fortune to be able to offer yet another map connected with the JP region. Those of you who attended the JP Homecoming last October will remember that our good friend Don Simmons showed us some maps on which he had been working for many years. His goal was to have maps of each county in the JP, showing the name of the original grantee for each quarter section. His first effort was Calloway County, and it is complete, except for just a few quarter sections on which no record seems to exist which shows the original grantee. Don indicated that he had donated a copy of the large finished map to the Kentucky Historical Society. There are some segments of the Calloway map on the JP Images web site, as well. Now, however, several copies of the large 3 foot by 3 foot full map of Calloway County have been retrieved and I have them on hand. If there are those who would be interested in having a copy of this original grantee map of Calloway County, please contact me by private e-mail for further details. It is a fascinating map, and we owe Don a great debt for all the years of work that he has put into this project, and, with his blessing, we are now able to have it available for those who need a copy. It can be an excellent tool for reconstructing early neighborhoods, and determining who owned lands adjacent to one another, etc. So if you are interested in this particular map, contact me privately. -B ==============================================================================
