    1. [KYCALLOWAY] New JP Land Grants Text File Now Available - "H" Surnames(Part) - File LG-826-B
    2. Bill Utterback
    3. My friends - I am dropping by today to let you know that I have another segment in our continuing series of JP land grants files ready for distribution. This file is another segment in the process of filling in some blanks that have been omitted from earlier files. This file covers more of the surnames which begin with the letter "H". Specifically, the surnames included in this file are: Haydock, Hays/Hayes, Hayden, Hawthorn, Hawkins, Haws, Happy, Hazlewood, Hatchett, Handlin, Hanberry, Harp, Hartsfield, Harpole, Haines, and Haley.. As I have said before, we have reached the stage in this series that all that remains are various small pockets of grants which have not heretofore been offered, and I have been working on those recently. Subscribers to the JP List and the county lists which I host can obtain a copy of this file by sending a request directly to me(not to the List, please). Please specify *File LG-826-B*. The file is available in both Plain Text and Adobe Acrobat PDF format. I will send the file as a plain text attachment to an e-mail message unless PDF is requested. If attachments are not workable, the file can also be transmitted in the body of an e-mail message, although this will often badly skew the columnar alignments. If this form of transmission is required, please specify that you need the file as a *straight e-mail message*. The complete file will be sent. Time constraints do not permit me to go into the file and extract data about individual surnames. Non-subscriber/PML requests will be filled only if time permits. A brief update on the progress being made on the Master Index of Graves County Order Book G. All of the indexed segments have now been merged into the master index file. However, because of minute inconsistencies from one indexed segment to another, the merging process was not flawless, and I am now going back and consolidating duplicate individual listings with other, identical listings, with different page numbers, into a single listing for all of the pages on which the name appeared, rather than having 10 listings for the same name with different page numbers after each listing. That process is time consuming, but I am well underway with it, and hope to have it finished in the near future, so that I can get the Master Index on-line. I will keep the Graves and JP lists posted on progress. -B ===============================================================================
