Rae and others, When Rae ask me where was my Short family came from, so the marriage record of William Boyd Short and his wife Caroline Wariner or Warren, could be found. I though I wish it could be that easy. But maybe someone out there might have a suggestion. So here it goes. There one child Charles McPherson Short b. 1872 in Massac Co. IL. This information came off of Charles McPherson Short's death certificate. The family story says that his mother Caroline had died a few years after Charles McPherson Short's birth sometime in 1873 -4. And his father William Boyd Short was to have died sometime before the 1880 census. I have been able to locate Charles McPherson Short in the Oklahoma Census. And this is the information I have found 1900 Charles McPherson Short 's Birth Fathers Mothers IL KY KY 1920 IL KY MO 1930 IL IL IL As you see here, I have his father born in tow different states and his mother in three different states. Charles was to have gone and lived with a uncle after his father had passed away. So he would of only been around 8 years old. So when the census takers came by in 1900, all he could remember was KY, or did other members of the family gave out the information incorrectly. I don't know who this family member was, that was to have raised Charles, I understand that Charles left the family when he was around 14 years old, and work on the cattle drive here in OK. So I only have his death certificate to go by, and the family stories. Charlotte
