    1. [KYCALLOWAY] CHUNN puzzling
    2. Hello to CHUNN/KILLEBREW/BAZZLE/SLAUGHTER/COLLEY researchers! I have been working on a puzzle tonight, and I would like some input from any one with knowledge to help out. Please bear with me as I explain my plight. A look at the 1850 Calloway County census could offer a clue as to siblings or cousins of our Nancy CHUNN. While looking at the house numbers of these people, with exception of the first one, Andrew Slaughter, I'm finding that several CHUNN [or CHUN] women were next door neighbors. I include Andrew Slaughter here, because I found a marriage record in Richmond Co., NC for an Andrew Slaughter and Polly CHUNN. Now, this Andrew doesn't appear to have "Polly" as his wife, but he comes from NC and travels to TN and then KY, and his age seems appropriate, so I'm wondering if he maybe just followed the CHUNN/SLAUGHTER/BAZZELL/KILLEBREW/COLLEY clans because of Polly and then maybe remarried. OK ... now here's my thinking ... We have Nancy CHUNN and Obedience J. CHUNN, and Andrew SLAUGHTER, who may have been husband of a Polly CHUNN, of course, I have also found a posting that lists a Polly CHUNN who is wife of A. C. Coley, b. NC, whose descendants also end up in Calloway Co., KY. At any rate, my thinking is that all of these CHUNN folks are kin to each other ... if not siblings, then cousins. Can any one offer any input here? 115-115 Slaughter, Andrew 56 m farm 3200 NC 12 , Sarah 45 f GA 12 Wallace, S. 17 m farm TN 11 Slaughter, J. H. 14 f TN 11 , Susan C. 13 f 11 , O. 14 m 11 , M. C. 2 f OK ... now for more ... I have found some records that are starting to point to Sylvester CHUNN as being the grandfather or father to more than just Henry B. CHUNN, also of Calloway Co, who married Obiedence SHIRES, who appears to be from the same Maury Co./Marshall Co., TN area that Sylvester resided in at his death. We know that Henry CHUNN was the son of Sylvester, and that Henry B. CHUNN was the son of Henry. Sylvester hailed to Maury Co., TN from Richmond Co., NC with his friend James Norman SMITH. Sylvester and his descendants are the only CHUNN family that I have been able to find in the Richmond Co. area of NC. So, I have been working on putting together a list of his children. Of course, Henry is the one that I have proof of, but I have reason to believe [from marriage records that I have found for Richmond Co., NC] that he may have had a daughter by the name of Betsy CHUNN who married a Lewis PITTMAN, a daughter by the name of Polly CHUNN who married Andrew SLAUGHTER, and a son by the name of Berry CHUNN who married [#1] Martha SLAUGHTER. I have also found a Sylvester Littleberry "Berry" CHUNN in MS who I believe to be the same Berry CHUNN that hailed from NC and was most probably the son of Sylvester. I also have reason to believe that a Bowlin CHUNN [found in MS] was also a son of Sylvester, and I believe him to be the father of Obedience J. CHUNN, her name being respect to his mother, Sylvester's first first, Obedience. I have several other names that I may prove someday to be the children of Sylvester, but I'm still working on them. SO .... I need some feedback here ... Can anyone prove/disprove any of the above? I'd love to hear from you. Hugs to all, Nancy
