My friends - I am dropping by today to let you know that I have another segment in our continuing series of JP land grants files ready for distribution. This file is one from which I have offered individual parts in the past, but I have reworked it to include some surnames that were missed originally. This file covers more of the surnames which begin with the letter "R". Specifically, the surnames included in this file are: Rowland, Rowlett, Roberts, Robinson, Ross, Roberson, Roper and Rogers. As I have said before, we have reached the stage in this series that all that remains are various small pockets of grants which have not heretofore been offered, and I have been working on those recently. Subscribers to the JP List and the county lists which I host can obtain a copy of this file by sending a request directly to me(not to the List, please). Please specify *File LG-864*. The file is available in both Plain Text and Adobe Acrobat PDF format. I will send the file as a plain text attachment to an e-mail message unless PDF is requested. If attachments are not workable, the file can also be transmitted in the body of an e-mail message, although this will often skew the columnar alignments. If this form of transmission is required, please specify that you need the file as a *straight e-mail message*. The complete file will be sent. Time constraints do not permit me to go into the file and extract data about individual surnames. Non-subscriber/PML requests will be filled only if time permits. On another matter, the Graves County Order Book G page segments which were abandoned by several of the indexing volunteers have been reassigned to other volunteers who have graciously offered to handle an additional segment to help us complete the indexing. Those segments will go out on Monday, and we expect to have them back within two weeks, at which time I will begin work on merging the segments and getting the master index on-line.
