My friends - Today, we are moving down to Calloway County and we will continue with our series on newspaper snippets taken from the Murray Ledger in the years 1907, 1908 and 1909. These snippets can be very short one-liners, saying little more than announcing the fact that someone is visiting someone else(and those can be useful, since those visits were most often to relatives)from out of town, or vice-versa, or they can be several paragraphs long, with an extended death notice or obituary with an extraordinary amount of valuable information in them. They can also be descriptions of criminal acts and announcements that individuals have been committed to the State Asylum in Hopkinsville. So we never know what one of these items may contain. Subscribers to the JP and Calloway lists can request the full text of a snippet for an individual below by sending a request directly to me. As is the custom with snippets, I will ask that there be no more than 3 snippets requested, as some are very lengthy. And, as always, you continuing assistance in not resending this entire message back to me with the request is greatly appreciated. Tomorrow, we will move back into Graves County. -B ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Calloway County - Early Newspaper Snippets - Continued Osburn, Killus B.
