    2. Bill Utterback
    3. My friends - I have completed converting another of the items on the several hundred 5" floppies which I refer to as my "miscellaneous files". The file that is now ready for distribution is the 1860 Calloway County Mortality Schedule. The Mortality Schedules were a part of the 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 census process, and cover deaths that occurred within the 12 month period preceding the census date. The covered period for this file is 1 June 1859-1 June 1860. The information contained for each death includes the name of the deceased, the month of death(no exact day is shown), the age of the individual, where the individual was born, the gender of the deceased and his/her occupation if employed. Surnames included in this file are: Acree, Adams, Allbritton, Barbor, Barnett, Barton, Booker, Bourland, Boyd, Brandon, Bizzell, Carett, Clanton, Cox, Cranfield, Cresta, Elik, Enoch, Epps, Evans, Faucet(t), Fennell, Goodin, Green, Groghan, Groves, Hanneline, Handy, Hankins, Harding, Hart, Henry, Hill, Howard, Jones, Kelly, Kennedy, Kimbro, King, Lasitter, Lawson, Lovier, Marsh, Marshall, Martin, Matherson, McCarty, McDaniel, Meadows, Moore, Morgan, Morris, Neal, O'Neil, O'Reid, Outland, Palmer, Plummer, Portess, Ray, Ross, Schrader, Shadawick, Shearpels, Skinner, Stephenson, Story, Stubblefield, Taylor, Terry, Wrather, Walston, Warneck/Warnick, Wells, Whitnell and Williams. There are also a number of African-American slaves listed, as well. Subscribers to the JP and Calloway lists can obtain a copy of this file by sending a request directly to me(not to the lists, please), These files are available in rich text format and Adobe PDF format. Because of some formatting attributes that need to be maintained, the file will not be available in plain text format. The file will be sent as a rich text attachment to an e-mail message, unless PDF is specified. The entire file will be sent, as time constraints do not permit me to go into the file and extract data on individuals contained within it. Your continuing assistance in not resending this entire message back to me with the request is appreciated. -B ====================================================================
