My friends - I am stopping by today to let everyone know that I have another segment in our continuing series on the Jackson Purchase Land Grants ready for distribution. We now have available data on over 9000 of the 9800 or so grants that were made in the JP region. Most of the few files which are left to do to complete this series will be rather short ones, with fewer surnames in them, as they are generally "bits and pieces" that I have not picked up in some of the earlier file offerings, for one reason or another. The offering today contains more of the "W" surnames. Specifically, the surnames in this file are: Wheeler, Weatherspoon, Webb, Welding, Weakly, Westray, Weatherford and Weaver. Subscribers to the lists which I host can obtain a copy of this file by sending a request directly to me(not to the List, please). Please request *File LG-885*. The file is available in plain text format or Adobe Acrobat PDF. I will send the file as a plain text attachment to an e-mail message, unless PDF is specified. The contents of the file can also be sent as test in an e-mail message, if attachments cannot be used. Using this method will usually badly skew the columnar alignments. If e-mail text is required, please specify that you need to have the file sent as a *straight e-mail message*. The complete file will be sent. Time constraints do no allow me to go into these files and extract data about individual surnames.
