I am new to the Caldwell list and KY research. I have many questions. Jesse and his son Roden and families lived in Caldwell Co in th early 1800s. They came from Green Co. KY, before 1809. Roden is spelled many ways- Rauden, Rawdon, Rodin, or R. T. was also used. Jesse and Roden owned land and Roden operated river ferries on or near Eddy Creek and Demumbers Creek. Roden administered the estate of his father, Jesse, in 1819. I think Jesse died in January or February of that year in Caldwell Co. Roden was in Calloway Co. in 1823. He may have died in MS thirty years later. 1- Where can I get a copy of the estate inventory, proceedings and the will, if there was a will? 2- Are there plat maps available of that time period? Where can I get copies? 3- Where can I get information about these ferries? 4- When the water levels rose, cemeteries were probably covered with water. Are there any records of these graves? 5- I think these creeks are now in Lyon Co. Should I be asking these questions of the Lyon Co. list? 6- Jesse received several land grants or warrants; where does one write to get copies of those applications? I would be very grateful for any information about these families. Thanks for your patience on these beginners questions.
