Rocky Mountain News Denver, Colorado 24 July 2001 Kathleen McDevitt, 96, of Wheat Ridge [Jefferson Co., CO], died July 15. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Olinger Wadsworth Chapel, with burial at Arvada Cemetery. Mrs. McDevitt was born in Dawson Springs, Ky., on March 8, 1905. She married James McDevitt, 1947. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband; sister Lillian Thompson of Ohio; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three great-great-grandchildren. Added Note: Kathleen's maiden name was Newsom. Her first husband was William Reuben "Red" Thomas (died 23 Aug 1930; buried Crossroads Cemetery), the son of Ephriam Newton Thomas and Nancy Elizabeth Hopper.
