Hi List: I am desperately searching for information about a Joseph and Mary Thompson from SC. I believe they came to Caldwell Co in early 1800's. Their son James W. Thompson married Rachel George, daughter of Andrew George. He married second Gracey Calhoon on Oct. 19, 1815 in Caldwell Co. Does anyone know anything about this family? James' and Rachel George Thompson were my ggggrandparents. Appreciate any help. Sue

Hall. I have attempted once or twice to do something with James but never got anywhere. I did not know, for example, that he married Gracey Calhoun. I know that Andrew's will pretty well excluded James, and that the two daughters were raised by their Grandmother Sarah George. In fact, I had thought that James had moved away, if he ever lived in the area. I had been told that his parents were Joseph and Mary but don't know the source of that data.
