Vicki, Thanks for the data. You said you found James in the Donalson Area. What is the Donaldson Area? Charles
Charles, First, let me correct the information which I gave you. James Stephenson was is the Donelson area. There is a Donaldson, too. Sorry! This refers to the water area the property was located by. Second, I will take a stab at this, but others on the list may have more knowledge on this than I do. I believe this may have been an area off of the Cumberland River, like a creek or river that ran down toward Fort Donelson in TN. Or maybe the water course ran up from there into Caldwell County. The area would today be located in Trigg County but may be under Lake Barkley. ?? You may find this map helpful in seeing the area: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilcivilw/battles/donmap2.htm The map is in relationship to the Civil War period but does show that there were many creeks and branches in the area, unfortunately, the names of most of them are not given. You may also want to check out the Trigg County US Gen Web site: http://www.kyseeker.com/trigg/index.html Betty's got all kinds of history gems over there. That's my best guess, if anyone else can add to this or offer better help, please do. Vicki
