    3. Hi Janice, The Handybook for Genealogists, ninth edition says: Fayette Co. Date created 1 May 1780. Parent County or Territory from which organized; Kentucky Co, Virginia Address: Fayette County, 162 E. Main St., Lexington, KY. 40507-1363 Phone: 606 253 3344 ( County Clerk has marriage records from 1795, probate & land records from 1794; Clerk of Circuit Court has divorce & court records. I couldn't find anything on the south fork of Sicking but I did find a South Fork of Licking. It is North of Peris, KY and Silas and Stoner may merge with it in that area. If you don't have any luck on the Sicking, I would try Licking since it is in that same general area. Good luck .......Bob ----- Original Message ----- > Does anyone know where Fayette Co. was circa 1785?...and waters of the north > fork of the south fork of Sicking...about twenty five miles from the mouth > thereof..... > > I have a photocopy of a land grant to John Cannon given from the Gov. of the > Commonwealth of Virginia of unpatented land in the District of Kentucky. > > thanks, Janice (Cannon) >
