    3. Poor Joy... if any of you are corresponding with Joy Fisher, please read. nt -----Original Message----- From: FISHER,JOY R [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, March 29, 2002 9:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [STATE-COORD-L] Virus SPAM Hi Folks: <very big sigh> Someone has spoofed the return address on one of the common virus messages so that it looks like it is coming from me. How do I know? I get all the bounces. Plus I am getting angry e-mail from folks I have never heard of who have received the SPAM with the attached (or embedded) virus. I was even threatened with a lawsuit. UCLA is getting a lot of abuse e-mail, complaining about me. I am using PINE for my e-mail. It is a no-frills UNIX e-mail program which can neither receive nor send attachments. If I have files to send anyone, I am uploading the files and sending the recipient the URL of the file so they can snag it. I have anti-virus protection on my system, download the latest virus definitions at least twice a day, and run a full anti-virus scan of my computer every day. If you receive any message that says it came from me, look at the headers to be sure it really came from me. If it includes an attachment (or is a very large message), it probably did not come from me. Please forward this message to any and all USGenWeb lists, as I am not on many lists.

If you are researching in Hopkins County, you'll be pleased to learn that I have just uploaded the entire 1850 Annotated Census for Hopkins Co. This would not have been possible without the countless hours Jim Laffoon spent on this project over the past 5 or 6 years. If your ancestors were in Hopkins or any of the surrounding counties in 1850 or thereabouts, you'll want to stop by and check it out. In addition to the annotations and sources that he has provided in the basic file, Carole Palmer, Webster Co CC and I will be working over the coming days and weeks to cross link the families from 1850 with those that appear in Webster Co in 1860. Between the Webster 1860 annotated census and the Hopkins 1850 annotated census, we have provided what can become a premier resource for your research in this area and this time period. We provide live access to Federal land conveyance records for the Public Land States. Images of Serial patents (land titles issued between 1908 and the mid-1960's) are currently being added to this web site. Due to organization of documents in the GLO collection, this site does not currently contain every Federal title record issued for the Public Land States. The mother said, "This is the geneticist with your surrogate Mother and here's your sperm donor and your father's clone. This is me holding you when you were just a frozen embryo." "Who is that?" asked the daughter. "Oh," answered the mother, "The lady with the very troubled look on her face is your aunt. She's the family genealogist." * * * * * Submitted by Bill Beckett [email protected] who writes: "This was sent to me by Pat Mooney [email protected] titled 'Modern Genealogy.'" and published in MISSING LINKS, Vol. 7, No. 12, 24 March 2002. 3. Dixon's of Caldwell County, Kentucky Author: Sheila Date: 11 Mar 2002 8:25 PM GMT Surnames: Dixon, Traylor Classification: Query This is a long shot, but it is always worth a try (so I'm told). Anyway, I am looking for a 'female' with the surname of Dixon that married a Traylor (with any of the different spellings). She would of died before 1915. She is or might be the mother of David Andrew Traylor. David's daughter could not remember her name, saying she (Dixon) passed before she (daughter) was born. Which is where I arrived with the death date before 1915. Any help, would be appreciated. Thanks Sheila Reply to: [email protected] **********************************************************************
