I need help with the children of Nicholas Phelps, who was born in VA, and died somewhere in Butler Co. (I assume) around 1840. I have not been able to find his grave site or death date or location. Does anyone have "proof" of Nicholas Phelps and Mary Biggerstaff's children? Anything documenting parentage and sibling relationships? I need to prove that they were the children of Nicholas & Mary Phelps. Was she their child? Did she die young? 7 - Julian R. "River", b: January 20, 1801, married Sarah "Sally" Elizabeth Smith, December 11, 1823. Marriage documented by Butler Co., Ky., Marriages 1810-1865. Married by Benjamin Burden, witnessed by Sally's father, Jacob Smith. MY direct ancestor. 8 - Elizabeth Betsey, b: 1802, married Jonathan E. Bacon, December 25, 1837, documented in Marriages of Butler Co., KY. 9 - Jesse, b: 1804, married Nancy Pitman, March 01, 1825, Marriage documented in Butler Co., KY First Marriage Index Book, Part 1, 1810-1890, Jo Wright, Desert Road Publications, Morgantown, Kentucky, 1999.
