In the 1880 Census, she is shown as a 17 yr old female. Immediately preceding the Quick family in the 1880 Census is a 49 yr old Oliver P Spencer and his 13 yr old son (same name). This page of the 1880 Census was enumerated on 2 June 1880 and on 31 Aug 1880 the elder Oliver Perry Spencer married Eliza Quick; she was his 3rd or 4th wife. During the War Between the States, the elder Spencer was a Captain in Co E 3rd Kentucky Vol Cav. Eliza and Oliver lived in Tell City IN 1880 - 1885 and then they emigrated to Monterey Co California; patenting land there in 1886. Eliza and Oliver had 6 children, the first two born in Indiana and the rest in California. Eliza outlived Oliver and subsequently married William P Beck. She died on 8 Sept 1928 in Monterey Co CA.
