It was later changed to Simmons Cemetery. Now, it is called the Burch/Matthews Cemetery. * According to Breckinridge Cem Rec Vol 2 Matthew Cem is located 4 miles north of Hardinsburg, Ky on US 1385. * Note from unknown post to Breckinridge Co,KY. message board. This cemetery is located on the old John Willis Lawrence/George N.Lawrence place. Many years ago Manuel Matthews and Freddie Dessie(Burch)Matthews lived next door the Lawrences. The Lawrence place had some small hills and viewing them from the house a person could see a lone chimney and near it was a graveyard that contains the remains of Todd, Tate, and Lawrence family members. This graveyard is between the Lawrence house and Rough River. Could anyone tell me if this place where the cemetery is located is the Matthews Cemetery on the Elijah Fentress farm? Elijah Fentress would have had the farm back in the 1880's. Also, I would like to know where is the location of the Marcus Matthew's place.
