    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: MILLER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YAB.2ACI/2673.1.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks Theresa!!! You have a vast knowledge concerning both the MILLER & BURCH families and I'll certainly try to fill in any gaps there might be ... but judging from what you already know, there won't be many of those! :)) Now ... as for my gg grandfather, Albert Connor MILLER ... According to our records, he was born in Perry Co, IN and not Breckinridge, KY. His second wife's name was Nancy Norton Basham. The information we have is sketchy, but we do have her birth year listed abt 1850 and their marriage date as 22 APR 1880, Breckinridge Co, KY. Nancy's daughter Elizabeth Basham was listed as Albert's stepdaughter in the 1880 census. My direct line is through Albert and Nancy's son, Allen Henry MILLER. I noticed you don't have any information about him other than his birth, so I'd like to provide a little more about him at this time even though our own information is limited ... at least it's a start! Also ... before I go any farther ... I'm fairly new to genealogy, so please forgive my lack of knowledge concerning proper genealogical writing order. I'll just do the best I can by writing what I know ... :) Allen Henry MILLER, b Jan 1867, Cloverport, Breckinridge Co, KY. He much preferred his name as Henry Allen and my own father only knew him by that name instead of the other way around. Allen Henry / Henry Allen passed away in 1944 and is buried in the McDonald Cemetery, Washington Co, AR. Allen Henry Miller and his second wife are buried together in this family cemetery. He's listed as Henry A Miller, 1866 - 1944 (perhaps they guessed at his birth year?) and his second wife's name is Mary E Miller, 1882 - 1950. The reason they are buried in a McDonald Family cemetery is due to their in-laws (Marshall FREDERICK and Rachell E MCDANIEL / MCDONALD) Rachell's brother, Abner G MCDONALD donated one acre of land in 1889 and became the founder of this cemetery that is still in use today! Here's a wonderful site I discoverd that led me to the information about the McDonald Cemetery in Washington Co, AR: http://www.angelfire.com/ar3/violetstar/index.html Most of this text is copied from their site: McDONALD CEMETERY Washington County, Arkansas This is a small rural cemetery. There is a metal fence surrounding the cemetery. A marker near the cemetery entrance reads: Elev. 1675 ft. Sec. 21 Tws. 14 R 31 W. One acre donated by Abnor G. MCDONALD, April 12, 1889. He is the brother to my g grandmother, Rachell MCDANIEL (her family used both surnames, McDonald and McDaniel) who married Marshal FREDERICK. Both are the parents of Rosie Ethel FREDERICK who married my grandfather, Joseph Sylvester Harrison MILLER, who is Henry Allen MILLER'S son. Both Marshall / Marshel FREDERICK and Rachell (McDaniel) FREDERIECK are buried in this cemetery along with Allen Henry / Henry Allen MILLER and his second wife, Mary E. MILLER. Directions to cemetery: To get there from Fayetteville, AR, take Highway 62 to Prairie Grove. Turn south on Washington County Road #28. Get on County Road 265 south, and then take County Road #29, which is a dirt road. Drive a few miles and then watch for a small white sign on the left reading "McDonald Cemetery". Turn at the sign, and the road will end at the cemetery. Let me backtrack a bit ... My g grandfather, Allen Henry MILLER, son of Albert Connor MILLER, was married twice: Wife #1: Mary E BURNETT, b 1866, AR, daughter of John D BURNETT and Sarah Sallee OLIVER. She and Allen Henry MILLER were married in AR, 1889 (or so we think) and the following children were born to this union: 1. Ellen MILLER, b abt OCT 1890, AR 2. Jimmy MILLER, b AR twin, died infant 3. Minnie MILLER, b AR twin, died infant 4.Joseph Sylvester Harrison MILLER (my grandfather) b 28 Apr, 1893, AR d, 25 NOV 1963, Las Cruces, NM and is buried in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, lot 144 space 2, Las Cruces, Dona Ana Co, NM. He married Rose Ethel Frederick in 1914 AR. She was born 28 OCT 1895 in Washington Co, AR, and is the daughter of Marshal FREDERICK and Rachel E. MCDANIEL. Rosie Ethel (Frederick) MILLER is buried next to my grandfather in space 1, lott 144 in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Las Cruces, Dona Ana Co, NM. She passed away 8 APR 1973. 5. Sarah MILLER, b abt June 1896, AR 6. Gladys MILLER, b abt July 1898, AR We don't exactly know when my g grandmother Mary E. (Burnett) MILLER passed away, but we feel she might have died in childbirth with Gladys or shortly thereafter ... The following 1900 census shows she had already passed away by that time. Allen Henry Miller was renting the farm he was working, so it is unlikely he would bury her there on a family plot ... so to date, we still do not know where the first Mary E Miller is buried. 1900 Washington County, Arkansas - Prairie Township - June 12, 1900 - page 211 267 - Miller, Henry, head; Jan 1867, age 33; widowed; KY IN KY; farmer/ renting farm #139 (we're not sure why MO is listed on this census, but on the following census, it is not) Ellen, dau; Oct 1890, age 9; AR KY MO Joseph, son; Apr 1893, age 7; AR KY MO Sarah, dau; Jun 1896, age 3; AR KY MO Gladys, dau; Jul? 1898, age 1; AR KY MO Here's another census after he remarried. He was already married to my grandmother (Rose Ethel FREDERICK) by that time (they married in 1914) and my father had already been born. Together they brought 5 strapping boys into the world: My father was the first born; 1. Josephus MILLER, b 14 MARCH 1917, West Fork, Washington Co, AR and d. 27 OCT, 1995, Las Cruces, Dona Ana Co, NM 2. living male 3. James Perry MILLER, b. 7 MARCH 1933 Washington Co, AR ... d 25 JUL 2002, Ft Worth, Tarrant Co, TX Well ... guess that's about it for now. It seems I've been writing for the LONGEST time so I hope I haven't made any errors! Also ... I hope you'll find my information helpful and will add it to your own compiled genealogical research ... I'll gladly add any additional information I discover along the way ... and I hope you'll do the same ... :) THANKS AGAIN ... VJ Miller Brandon
