Santa Allen was born 1876 and died 1917. He married Anna McClellan in 1900. His death cert. listed Cyrus Robinson as father and Matilda Allen as mother. Until I got the death cert. I thought Matilda was his sister and Harriet his mother. Matilda was born 1856 and died 1894. In 1860 Harriet and Matilda (age 4) ADAMS were alone together. By 1870 both (now using surname ALLEN) are living with Cyrus Robinson and Harriet is listed as a "housekeeper". James (1865), John W. (1867) and Tom (1868) are with them (All ALLEN surname). In 1880 Felix (1871), Essie (1874), Santa (1876) and Francis (1878) are added. I'm thinking the first group of children belonged to Harriet and a Bill Allen and the second group to Matilda and Cyrus. Then in 1884 Matilda marries Columbus Tate at the home of Cyrus Robinson, moves to Grayson Co. and has a child, Cliffie Tate. Cyrus didn't die until 1890 so ???? Harriet and the other chil! dren remain with Cyrus and he leaves his property to the ALLEN children. It all seems strange. Anyone got any ideas or better yet information!!
