There were several Twitty in Mississippi Co., MO & New Madrid Co., MO which are across the river from Hickman Co., KY. 3. Hi all... There's been an addition of the Sinkler/Sinclair/St. Clair Family Cemetery on the Cemetery Tombstone Photograph and Transcription Index page. As I state at the top of the page, there are pictures of the cemetery on the page but there are no markers on any of the graves. Sarah "Salie" Blissett St. Clair, one of the individuals buried in the cemetery is the sister to my g-g-grandmother. Aunt Salie's g-granddaughter, Fay Carman Minter, took the photos of the cemetery and has graciously allowed for them to be placed on the Archives site. Between what her family Bible says, in addition to our family "stories" and death certificates obtained for three of the family members, we have been able to ascertain nine known burials in the cemetery. There are quite a few sunken in areas, and Fay said she believes there are about 20 or so graves (including the nine known ones). This cemetery is one that could be lost to time and land development if the "right" circumstances were to fal! l into place. At present, there is housing development going on around where the cemetery is, so anything is possible. Plus, Fay gave me copies of pictures she took at High Plains UMC Cemetery (about 80 or so grave markers). Also, there have been a few more pictures placed on the Photographs section, courtesy of Dave Rafferty. If I didn't say it beforehand.... many thanks to Dave, Fay, and Tanya (Curtis) for their submissions this past weekend. Dave submitted several photos for the Photographs section and a marriage listing for the marraiges; Tanya submitted several death certificates. It'll be Friday before I can work again on getting anything else on the site due to being a teacher and graduation being this week. Hopefully I can finish up the Hensley-Dowell cemetery soon and briefly hit the High Plains Cemetery before tackling the 400+ markers from Garfield Cemetery. Happy Hunting! 3. Hi all.... My apologies to anyone who might have been on the site early today and had problems accessing part of the pages for a bit. I was adding new pages and updating information, and I was having a little trouble getting the URL's to read on several of the links for and within the individual pages. All the pages are up and running fine now. Many MANY thanks to Dave Rafferty and Tanya Curtis for their submissions the past two days. Dave added to the Photographs section, both Grouping/Family Grouping portion and the Individual portion... and I found a divorce record he'd submitted that I hadn't put on the site yet. Tanya uploaded about 60 or so death certificates as well as a few birth certificates. All are up on the pages and ready for viewing. I waited until today to tackle redesigning the "Photographs" page, and have all the former pictures housed on in groupings, with an individual page for each grouping... which is where the "accessing the pages" problem I mentioned above occurred. And before I forget, in one of my "blonde" moments, I neglected to put a spot for divorces on the main page for when they are submitted. That's been taken care of as well. Well, here are the updates and additions: Births: (addition) Basham Deacon Divorce: (addition) Rafferty Death Certificates: (updates to pages) A, B, C, D, F, K, L, N, P, R, S, and T Pictures: (update) Rafferty family picture Susan Enola Miller Rafferty That's it for today. 3. Hi all... Been busy since last night, but after 10 hrs. of working at it, I finally got the new pages for the Archives site online. The main page has been totally redesigned, as well as additions for future information I'm expecting in. The areas on the site now are: Area Communities Past and Present Bibles Biographies Births Cemetery Thomstone Photo Transcription Project Cemetery Transcriptions Census and Tax Lists Churches Death Certificates Deeds and Court Documents History Maps Marriages (Bride or Groom) Military Miscellaneous Newspaper Articles Obituaries/Death Notices Old Fashioned "Means and Ways" Photographs Schools/School Pictures Everything that was on the site before is still there, just under headings now. Hopefully it will make it easier to find things or scan through to see what is out there for the researchers. The only update so far has been to the Garfield Baptist Church Minute/Roll Book. The "Articles of Faith" and a listing of former pastors was added to the pages already there. Happy Hunting! 3. Hi all... The Garfield Baptist Church Minute Book/Membership roll records are partially on the GenWeb Archives website. I've straightened out what I could on this end and uploaded it tonight. The ones that I failed to send to Judy due to the mislabeling of the image file will hopefully be transcribed and up on the site by Friday night or Saturday at the latest. Please bear in mind, if you click on a box with wording and nothing comes up, it means I have yet to get the transcription and picture uploaded to the server. Happy Hunting! 3. Hi all.... The first page of Hensley-Dowell is up and on the site for anyone that's interested. I'm working on the transcriptions that Carolin and Judy have sent me regarding the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Garfield Baptist Church, so I'm hoping to have them up and on the site either tonight or tomorrow night. There was a snafu on my end regarding the images of the books. What I sent the ladies and "labelled" as a certain page may in fact turn out that I mislabelled them. I'm going to have to go back to what I sent them and compare them to the original disk of info to make sure I have the correct image with the correct transcription. I got the "a-okay" on the new page, so it's a matter of doing a few of the subpages and then the new page will be uploaded and ready to been seen and used. Happy Hunting! 3. Hi all... Just a quick note to let you all know I got the remainder of the Civil War grave registration records placed on the CW page. I'm going to try and get the last ones for the first page of Hensley-Dowell cemetery keyed in so I can load the page to the site. Once I load the page, it'll be available for you all to pull up and look at. My cousin, Peggy Russell, is in the process of putting together a rather large package of genealogy items for me to submit on the Archives site. She has spent the past several months going through roughly 20 years of weekly editions of the Breckinridge County Herald-News, cutting out quite a bit of articles, maps, pictures... a vast array of just about everything. While there are items that relate to the present time frame, it also has ran articles and things over the years pertaining to Breck. Co. history. The transcribing process of some of them might take a bit, but the pictures are something that can be added relatively quickly to the site for everyone's benefit. So it's with great excitement that I share the news with you guys of the forthcoming items. As a result of the overwhelming amount of items coming in, I'm looking at doing a total revision of the main page to make it easier for you all to access what's there. The main page would have the subjects and once ! you click on any of the links, you would be redirected to a subpage that houses the submitted info along with the date of submission and submitter's name/contact info. If you found something on that particular page you wanted to view, you could then click on the link and the image or info would come up. Lots of new things going on in the coming months, so as always.... Happy Hunting!
