About July 1884, John and Charles P'Pool/Pool got into a quarrel with Elijah and John Alexander. The Alexanders were shot ...Elijah died. John Pool was married at the time to the Alexander's sister, Susan and Charles Pool would marry their sister, Amanda, in a short time. The Alexanders were also cousins of the Pools...their mother was a Pool. The story goes that the Pool brothers left for Texas the day after the shooting. I searched for records in Breckinridge County Court House but found no record also searched for a newspaper record and couldn't find any. I heard the story from both the Alexander and Pool sides and I believe it's true.....any of you Breckinridge County researchers have any suggestions? Any reasons a record of the shooting would not be in the criminal records? John Poole Houston -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Barr was in World Family Tree, Vol. 174, Tree 48. The information therein stated that she died 19 June 1924 in Dallas City, Illinois. This information was followed by a ? or question mark suggesting that the submitter was not certain concerning the place of death. This entry also listed her father as Elias Barr and her mother as Sarah Ann Beauchamp. The paternal grandfather was listed as Adam Barr, Sr. , whose wife was listed as Mary Claycomb. Sarah's nickname was given as "Sallie." These surnames are all known in Breckinridge County,Kentucky. In fact, the Barr Auction and Realty Company is owned by a likely descendant of this Barr lineage. You can find this company by searching the internet. Mark Barr, of the Auction and Realty Company, is a friend of mine but too busy to bother about his family history. Be reminded that information submitted to World Family Tree is not accompanied by documentation. Caveat emptor! Hope this assists your venture. Francis Keenan Brockport, New York

I am always skeptical about LDS information as the source is not always known and there were no checks upon data submitted to LDS concerning its veracity. The information which I supplied about "The Cut-off" is validated. But, since the exact location of the marriage in question is not available, it is possible that the couple were married outside The Cut-off (then, Ohio County, KY) and somewhere in Breckinridge County. The information you supplied from LDS appears to have been taken from a marriage bond. This marriage bond may be available from the Breckinridge County Archives which are in the basement of the Courthouse, Hardinsburg, Breckinridge County, Kentucky. You could contact the archivist there for assistance. Hope this helps.

Hi all... Well, I didn't take long of a break (but I'm going to take more of one tomorrow night and Saturday night). Wanted to let you all know I added some cemeteries to the Archives site tonight. It seems I had some pictures here on a CD that was given to me by Peggy Russell when she was in town two years ago, and I had forgotten that the markers were on them. She reminded me the other night, and after smacking my forehead, I worked on them tonight. Tonight I added a few markers to the following cemeteries: Bruner Cemetery #5 (Mary Bruner Horsley marker) GoodHope Cemetery (Sarah C. Carter and James O. Lucas markers) Jared Family Cemetery (Amanda Jared Whitworth marker) Cook Cemetery (Smith, King, and Lucas markers) On the CD are also pictures of the Horsley-Compton Cemetery, Hudson Cemetery, and a few from Macedonia Cemetery, New Bethel Cemetery, and Horsley Chapel Cemetery. Y'all have a good one... and enjoy! Happy Hunting!
