    1. Cemetery Board
    2. Is there a way the cemetery board could be contacted directly? I'm interested in finding out the status of the Kasey cemetery and if they can do anything to help the situation. Sally Kasey Emily

    2. Hi, again...... Just checking......did you get the pix of Henry Singleton Kasey? The father of all the guys? Sure, put the pix on the site. Put my name on there if you want to as Sally Kasey Emily. Email address is _OKasey@aol.com_ (mailto:OKasey@aol.com) and it's okay to use it. There can't be that many of us! I still intend to send you a pix of my grandfather, Henry Porter Kasey, so you can check out his hands and the hands of the woman's pix you sent me. Oh, yeah, I have the narrow face as well. Have a great school year...... Sally

    3. Hi Jen.... Yeppers, I get notification almost instantaneously when something's uploaded to the ftp server. Then on a once daily basis we get notification of all submissions to the state, which is a repeat of the individual notifications we immediately get. I got all four DC's that you sent, and am getting ready to load them on the site... so be watching for them. When I do the cemetery uploads (no matter how large the cemetery is), I do it via the submissions form... as well as the other things on the site. Call me computer challenged, but if it weren't for those forms and their ease, I'd be sunk! It's only by the grace of God and the "Front Page" program that the Archives site is what it looks like today. 3. Hi all... I know it's been a while since you all have heard from me, but I've taken a MUCH needed rest. And with being a school teacher, things are getting a little hairy as it gets down to the wire for the school year to start. Once it starts, then things will start going online a little more frequently. Earlier I uploaded three tombstone pictures for 4 individuals, as well as linked up a submitted death certificate. Many thanks to Patsy Herrell for sending in pics she took at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. She has more that she'll be sending once they are developed, so be on the lookout for them. Also, many thanks to Diane Davis for submitting the death certificate for James M. Davis. Your all's contributions are GREATLY appreciated! I also heard this past week that the Breck. Co. Cemetery Board (I think that's the official name for it) has began work within several cemeteries in the county. For those that don't know, the county had appointed several individuals to a board that would be in charge of things concerning the old, abandoned/neglected cemeteries within the county. This board worked the early part of the spring to locate and take pictures of as many of the cemeteries as they could with regards to applying for a state grant which would help fund the restoration and preservation of the nearly 600 cemeteries listed within the county lines. The grant applications were very tedious and required a lot of work to fill out, so only 6 cemeteries were submitted this year, with hopes of more for next year. While the funding would be matched by the state, the initial funding would come from the county by way of a "per dollar" amount and/or a labor/supply/equipment suppliment. The manual labor would be! done by the county inmates. According to the Breck. Co. Herald-News which ran an article recently, two of the cemeteries which has had work done to them, had before and after pictures published in the newspaper as well as an article of what was going on and how it all came about. I know one cemetery was the Jordan Cemetery, and the other one I'm drawing a blank on regarding the name of it. From what I understand, there not only has been clean up going on (brush, dead trees, et. al.), but there has been fencing installed and markers repaired/reset in the cemeteries mentioned in the paper. Once I get more information, I'll be sure to let you all know. With that said, y'all have a great one! Happy Hunting! I have a complete geneology on the "Sherron" family that originally came over from Ireland. Their Irish surname was O'Heron. They dropped the "O" and added an "S" so that it would sound more American. The other story found was that it was simply misread from the ships master log. Most moved into this area "South/North Central KY, but there are also records that I have traced into VA and Canada. I thought this might interest you. We are definately a family with many names~!
