    3. Do you know where it was located? I used to live there in the 1980s and had never been told of a school! I know where the post office used to be and the location of both churches, if that will help with where the school was? When you say "she was born and raised here" do you mean in Big Springs? 3. Hi all... Got a few things put on the website early yesterday evening and then again a little bit ago. Many thanks to Jen Ritchie for the 4 death certificates she submitted for the Whitworth and Glasscock families. Also many thanks to Sally Kasey Emily for two pictures of her Kasey family from the 1800's. While I'm waiting for confirmation on the names and any possible photo dating she may have, I got Henry Singleton Kasey's individual picture placed on. Anyone wishing to see the newest updates, the death certificates are on the "Death Certificate" page, and the Henry Singleton Kasey picture is on the "Photographs" page under "Individuals". When I make sure I have all the information correct on the Kasey men, it'll be on the "Photographs" page under "Group/Family Group". Happy Hunting! 3. Donde... I don't have anything here that would be of any help, book-wise, but if you don't have something by tonight my first line of thought would be this. Give Karen Schafer a call at the Archives there in Hardinsburg, and since you "know" the birth date and the suspected birth date, she might be able to pull up the newspaper microfilm and find it. Being in Glen Dean... I don't know if the Breckinridge County News would have covered it, or if it was close enough to Grayson that it was covered in the Grayson county paper and missed in the Breck. Co. paper. Not sure when the Irvington Herald began publication, but it's farther away from Glen Dean than what Stephensport was... so more than likely wasn't in it. The number at the Archives is: (270)756-6112. They open at 8:30am Central time. Karen and Bevia are fantastic at finding things and helping out. Dana ----- Original Message ----- From: Donde H. When she went to the retirement home after a life dedicated to teaching, she noted her birth date as Sept. 9, 1907. We are trying to verify that it was indeed 1906 although the birth of the next sister was Feb 5, 1908. If anyone can help verify that, the Sisters in Dayton are waiting to publish the information. 1. Re: [KYBRECKI] Cemetery Board
    2. Dana Brown
    3. Hi Sally... I don't know of a board for the Kasey Cemetery (aka Grandview Cemetery). I've talked with several individuals over the past couple of years and there are a few individuals that go in and clean/maintain sections within the cemetery, but nothing really overall that I know of. The portions that they clean/maintain are where their parents/grandparents/family are grouped together in a particular spot. As of this year, things could have changed and I haven't learned of it (as of yet), but someone here on the mailing list might know more information on it than I do. What I did hear, and mind you this was over the past two years that I've heard this... and it could have changed between late last year and now.... that the vandalism and problems occurring within the cemetery are as a result of restless individuals (usually teenagers) with nothing better to do that go to a place VERY remote where they can have "fun" without the interference of adults or authorities. That, coupled with the location of the cemetery makes for some sad, but very interesting situations regarding the cemetery when it comes to police involvement. It seems that where you park your car to enter the cemetery is actually in Hardin County. When you walk into the cemetery, you are literally walking from Hardin County into Breckinridge County. The police in Breck. Co. would have to go out of jurisdiction to get to the cemetery, and the police in Hardin Co. would go out of jurisdiction to enter the cemetery. All that to say, "someone has a chance to do something, but no one is doing anything", when it comes to law enforcement. And with the police being as stretched as they are, in all places, they'd have to literally be called while something's going on. With the cemetery being as far off the main road as it is, it's highly unlikely they'd make it there in time to do any good. Sorry for the lengthy response, but didn't know how else to explain the frustrating aspect of circumstances.
