Hello all who requested lookups! I have a family situation - a grandson who has had brain surgery for a cancerous growth. So I am in Utah babysitting the rest of the family and except for a brief visit home for the Baltimore FH workshop Sept 9th (of which I am the chairman), I will be here indefinitely. I am going to try to get the book to give me some things to do in my free time. But your lookup will be later than I planned. Sorry, Kathie -- M. Kathleen Felsted [email protected]

Hi all... Have some more additions to the GenWeb Archives site I wanted to alert you all to. Tom Jarboe was searching the site and found a discrepancy and alerted me to it. In the process, he shared quite a bit of info regarding his g-grandfather, Walter Jarboe, and Walter's sister Matilda, and Walter's parents Samuel and Elisabeth Lewis Jarboe. Many thanks to Tom for sharing the tombstone pictures, Bible record page, and he even wrote up a biography of Walter to go along with the information to clear up the discrepancy in birth/death info. Here's the sections updated or added to the site: Bible - Samuel Jarboe Family Bible (addition) Biography - Walter Jarboe (addition) Military - Civil War Grave Registration: Walter Jarboe (updated) Tombstone Cemetery Photograph Project - St. Rose Catholic Cemetery Y'all have a great one! Hi, Searching for John G.Smith b.1810 pressence in Breckinridge Co KY in 1830,or 1835 census data. He owned or sold property there around 1835. He may have been married to 'jane'? at this time with at least one son Addison H b.1829 and also maybe Adam S.Smith. His origin continues to be a mystery brickwall. Any information of smith there that he could be connected too welcome. By 1844 he had ventured to Macon Co Illinois and remarried Martha E.Wheeler. The Wheelers came from Bullitt co.KY as yet I dont know if the families had other connections Wish you all well thankyou wayne
Hi all...... Wanted to let you know there's been some uploads to the Breck. Co. GenWeb Archives site today. Many MANY thanks to Jen Ritchie for the death certificate for Elizabeth Stinnett Hall, and to Patsy Herrell for more pictures of the graves at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Judy Hartsock and I are over halfway done with the "1870 Breck. Co. census - Bewleyville". If I understand it right, once we've finished the district, they (the powers at be with the US GenWeb Census Transcription project) will load that information into the database and we can link up to it for everyone to use. Once it's finished, it's on to the next district which is "Bewleyville District". I think Cloverport District is after that. In anycase, there are 12 districts (if I remember right) and a LOT of people to transcribe. Y'all have a good one! Happy Hunting! In my husband's line he is related to the VonWeidenmeiers of Germany, but here in the U.S. the name became Whitmire!! Thanks again for the information. Karen

He is seen in the first census when KY is listed as a state. There was even a small town named Ammons where they lived, which now has a church and a cemetery (no ammons in the cemetery) it is no longer a real town. Any info appreciated. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YAB.2ACI/2753 Message Board Post: My sister [Linda Julius] and I are in the beginning stages of trying to have a Cemetery Preservation Board formed through the Daviess County Fiscal Court & County Judges for Daviess County Kentucky. At this point, the County Judge Elect, Reid Hare, stated to me that his concerns are that the County will be held liable to match any monies the State of Kentucky produces for occasional Cemetery Grants. He has informed me there are probably over 50 cemeteries in Daviess County that are in need of care, and states that the County would not want to participate in a Board, where the County might have the burden of putting up money that just isn't there for this type of project. He has turned over my request to Daviess County's legal advisors, and is having them research what all is involved with a Cemetery Preservation Board and their [The County's] responsibility to it. I also informed Mr. Hare that no matter what the issues were, I still would like a board formed as there is a need in this county for preservation of all known and unknown cemeteries in the county. If you are interested in having a Cemetery Preservation Board formed for Daviess County, please e-mail me with a short paragraph of your wish for one and put in the subject line: Daviess County Cemetery Preservation Board. Also start the letter to: Me [Judy Bailey] All Daviess County Judges Owensboro/Daviess County Commissioners Owensboro/Daviess County Planning Commission Also, please let me know if you are willing to attend any meetings called by the Courts, Commissioners, or Planning board. The more people that make their voice heard about this, the more the need for such a Group will be proven. Also, let me know if you would be willing to participate on the Cemetery Board, or with any cemetery clean-ups, fundraisers, etc. Let me know the name and location of any Cemetery that is NOT taken care of by any Church or other organization and is in dire need of attention. As you all know, my concern has been Fern Hills Cemetery, but I feel sorrow when I see any unattended Cemetery. I think it's everyones place that has any descendant, no matter how remote the connection, buried in a forgotten cemetery to protect and care for their burial spot, no matter where it is. If we don't do it, who will and what would stop progress or neglect from taking these cemeteries over? If you have any question's or want to discuss this further, you can contact me at [270] 926-2094 or [270] 485-1084. An impromptu meeting concerning this will be held this Tuesday, Aug. 15 or Wed. Aug. 16 at Shoney's Restaurant on Frederica St., Owensboro, Ky., early evening. If you think you may like to come, please call me. This can turn out to be a learning experience for anyone thinking of starting such a board in any County. We'll be learning as we go... Everyone is welcome to join us. Thanks Everyone!
