My grandmother gave a speech in 1990 outlining the history of the UMC in Cloverport. The attached text file is it. I know it'll be a while before you get to it, but I wanted to send it while I was thinking about it. I didn't see an appropriate spot in the submissions for Church History. I have other stuff that I'm collecting as well. I'm also working on a podcast of her oral history of Cloverport. She did that one in 1985. Can Rootsweb host audio files? Hi Billie.... While I don't know for sure on the majority of the marriage locations, there are some that are noted in his journal of being at a particular residence with particular witnesses. If that's the case, I've done my best to note it as such on the file. Other than that, I don't know if it was at his home or just where it was. Wish I could be of more help. Hopefully someone on the list will know more and post it here for everyone to see. Hi all... Just real quick as I'm on my way to bed. I was able to add several more years worth of marriage listings from the Rev. James Taylor marriage journal. There are so many that I had to break it up into two parts, so far. The first part covers years 1827-1846. The second part covers the years 1847- Feb., 1853 as to date. More will be added as time permits. These two portions of the Rev. Taylor's journal can be found in the "Area Minister's Marriage Journals" on the main page. You all have a good one! Happy Hunting! Hi all.... The booklet, "A Glimpse of the Past" is finally finished and online for reading. The last three that went up today were the longest in the entire booklet, but well worth the wait, I promise. Also, yesterday I linked up the biography submitted by Sandi Gorin, of Breckinridge County native, John Leroy Bandy (son of Byron and Caroline Jordan Bandy). I'll be spending a little time today typing up some more of the marriages of the Rev. James Taylor, and will let you all know when they are accessible. Updates: "A Glimpse of the Past" booklet: Photographers Old Sayings Taverns Biographies: John Leroy Bandy You all have a good one, and enjoy the new items! Happy Hunting!
