    1. [KYBRECKI] 1/13/2006 GenWeb Archives update
    2. Dana Brown
    3. Hi all... Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season... I know my family had a wonderful belated present come to us this past week by way of my sister in law announcing she's going to have a baby. It's the first one for my brother and she, and second grandchild for my mom. There's a lot of excitement at the future addition of a little branch to our big family tree. All that to say, I'm going to be adding some info throughout the day to the site. There is one picture of a marker to be added to the Garfield Cem. site, it was sent in by Peggy Russell. I also have been keeping track of the obituaries posted on the Trent-Dowell website, and just recently they gave a listing of those that had passed away in 2006. I've alphabetized the list (with a death date listed next to it) and will be posting it on the site, as well as putting an asterick by the obits that I was able to obtain since learning of the site in June. Due to privacy rules set down by the USGenWeb, I can give an abstract of the obits listing basic info on those who are deceased but where it concerns listing names/locations of living members. To go any further than that, they really frown upon it. So, rather than risk the ire of the bosses and losing my maintain the Breck. Co. site, if you see an asterick by a name/date you can email me and I'll send a copy/paste of the obituary listing. It's probably going to take a little bit to get it all in order, but I'll get the initial naming up on the site today. You all have a good one and... Happy Hunting! Surnames: RUSHER, PHILLIPS, ROWLAND Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.breckinridge/4522.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi: Here is some information regarding a Humphrey Roberts - he was the father of Mary Nancy Roberts who was the second wife of a Gr.Gr. Uncle, so the info. I found is very limited: Humphrey Roberts born about 1795 in Kentucky, married Lucretia Rice. Their daughter: Mary Nancy Roberts born Sept. 24, 1824 in Ohio Co., KY. married: Henry Rusher in 1865 died: April 24, 1919 in Fordsville, Ohio Co., KY. according to my notes, she died in an "Axe accident". I found this information on Ancestry.com posted by Sandie Preston. Roberts is one of my surnames, my line left Kentucky in the early 1800's and settled over the Ohio River into Crawford Co., Indiana. The Rusher clan lived in Breckinridge, Ohio and surrounding counties in Kentucky. The county boundries changed often in No. Kentucky, you might try searching for Humphrey in the counties that surround Breckinrige. Good luck! Carole B.

I don't know if she ever married or what happened to her . the only record that I have of Ann is after her father died and in the settlement papers it lists her as a heir and legal representative but it never listed what she received from her father I asume that the way the settlment papers read that she wasn't married at the time of when her Fathers estate was settled she had six brothers as far as I know she was the only girl her brothers names are Andrew, David, Samuel, James, Thomas, Nathaniel, and finaly Ann. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.breckinridge/4521/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The Eastern State Hospital Cemetery Project became a Special Project of the Ky GenWeb on December 13, 2006. The website has address was changed to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/esh/. There are some exciting changes taking place. The hospital cemetery is estimated to have as many as 4500 or more persons buried in it. There are 3 marked graves and one large tombstone. Our goal is to find the names of as many of these individuals as possible. To do this we will need all the help we can get. Locating information prior to the 1911 mandatory registration of deaths is very difficult. We ask that anyone who has any information to please pass it along for inclusion. Newspapers obits are excellent sources of information as well as local county court records/commitment papers. Currently I am gathering death certificates of those who died at the hospital. We have the years 1911 to 1915 posted, but with partial information listed. We are reworking this to include other data such as: place of birth, usual residence, name of parents and their place of birth, occupation, length of stay, cause of death & contributory cause of death. The majority of these persons were from counties other than Fayette and some were also born in other states and countries. Other data already posted includes: 1860 and 1870 Mortality Schedule of hospital deaths; individuals who were patients at the taking of the 1890 Veterans Census; patients listed in the 1870 Federal Population Census; 1833 & 1849 Cholera Deaths and some newspaper accounts of hospital deaths. In the coming months I will be working on gathering more census data, court records of deceased patients, lunacy bonds and locating more newspaper accounts. There are pictures of the Eastern State Hospital Cemetery taken in Nov. 2006. If any one wants information how to obtain a relatives records e-mail address is [email protected] Death certificates can be obtained through 1955 and the 1956 death certificates will out in the next 2-4 months. Jerry Taylor is webmaster and I am the co-ordinator for the Eastern State Hospital Cemetery Project. Thanks, Mary Hatton & Jerry Taylor ([email protected])

Surnames: Meylin, Deuchars, Smith Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.breckinridge/767.1568/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Dear Ms. Davis, I, too, have been researching the Meylin family of Crawford County, Indiana. I have a good deal of information on the family, which, in my line of research, connects with the Deuchars of the same county. I have from the 1880 census indication that Hiram Meylin's father came from Pennsylvania. I also have an older John Meylin (1784-1840) who's buried in Fredonia Cemetery (Fredonia, Crawford County, Indiana), who perhaps/probably was Hiram's father, but I cannot find any reference to connect him to the Pennsylvania Meylins of York County, Pennsylvania, with whom I believe he may be connected. Also, I'm aware that a branch of those Pennsylvania Meylins settled in northern Indiana, so they, too, may be connected with the Crawford County Meylins, but I don't yet know how. John's wife was named Sarah. I place four children in their family: Hiram B., born 1813 in Indiana; John H., born 1823/1824 in Indiana; Mary E., born before 1830 and Sarah Jane, born 1831/1832, both in Indiana. I am also familiar with your Oscar Alonzo Meylin, but I've not worked on his line so I don't know his parents. Hiram B. and Marilda Ellen (Rice) Meylin had a son named Alonzo L., born 1847/1848 and reportedly died in a riverboat disaster between 1880 and 1886, but I've not been able to get the details of his death, although I do have Meade County, Kentucky, and Crawford County, Indiana, documents that confirm his death and the guardianship of his children. His wife was Susan S. Hardin of Meade County, Kentucky. I live in Owensboro, Kentucky, and I would like to strike up a communication and sharing with you. My e-mail address is [email protected] Hoping to hear from you, Ronald Lee Logsdon
