I hope this might help Thomas Short was born 1872 in Breathitt Co, Ky. He married America Stamper born May 11, 1872 and died December 8, 1935 in Breathitt Co, Kentucky, They married on July 2, 1888. America was the daughter of Joel Jr. Stamper and Matilda Helton Both Thomas and America are buried in the Justice Riley Cemetery. Thomas Short served with Company D 4th Kentucky Infantry during the Spanish-American War. Their family of two identified children lived in Crocksville, Breathitt County in 1900. Thomas is listed as a nephew of Ancil and Elvira Short living in Breathitt County per 1880 Census,. America was married to Thomas Short at the home of Joel Stamper by H.B. Haddix, witness were Gran Turner and J. Sebastian. Thomas Short and America Stampers children are: 1. Cordella Short born 1889 2.
