How do I reach someone at the Breathitt Library who might look up a 1916 obit for me or an article on the following? For a drowning that happened on or about 1 Jan 1916 on the North Fork of the Kentucky River in Breathitt Co., KY? I am being told there is still a railroad bridge in Breathitt Co., KY on the river so it probably happened in Breathitt. John Hill coming down the North Fork on the Kentucky River when his raft hit a pier on the railroad bridge and drowned and his body was never found. There may have been others on the raft/boat? I would think the news would be in the paper. A fellow researcher suggests that it could be in a Breathitt Co., or Irvine, KY paper? Thanks for any help. Marge

There are some newspaper items indexed on the Perry County site, I found some items relating to Breathitt County among these. You might try this site and perhaps you will be lucky enough to find what you are looking for.
