The son Joseph Lee Back died January 29, 1935, not 1972. My father was his oldest son and was left with the responsibility for the younger children and his mother. Joseph Lee probably had tuberculosis. One of the younger children had only one memory of Joseph Lee, standing on his tiptoes and looking in the casket and seeing "that flaming red hair." His nickname was Copperhead. Because Mary Elizabeth "Ollie" married her first cousin, Nelson McIntosh, I have additional information about her which I'll add below. Also, Edna Back married Buck Blevins and lived in Boone County, Kentucky. The only child whose name I know is Velma. I had also found a birth record in a transcription by Frances Ingmire for a Robert Lee Back born 11/14/1915 in Breathitt County, son of "Dorsha" Back, father unknown. Does anyone know more about him?
