    2. Gary & Karen
    3. Mr. Vires, Your email to Breathitt County was forwarded to me as a member of their mailing list. Is there any other place on earth that keeps it's hold on people's hearts as does Breathitt County? I never even lived there and still I feel the pull. My father was born at Rousseau and I still have family around Jackson. I was able to visit at the end of June and met Stephen Bowling and the others at that time. Young Mr. Bowling is quite remarkable. I was amazed that several of the volunteers could quote my family history from memory. All of the library staff was quite helpful. I didn't make it to the courthouse this trip. My lines are Back, McIntosh, Russell, & Clemmons. We are trying to organize the first ever reunion of the Back cousins (there were over 40 of us) for next year. That will be my excuse for returning next year. Even though I am past 50, my cousins persuaded me to go up into the hills on an ATV for several hours. It was my first time on an ATV but what sites I saw! Those hills are even more beautiful than I remembered. It was the only way I could have returned to the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. Happy hunting from a Southern Illinois Hillbilly. 1. [KYBREATH-L] JAMES BOLLING & HACKER Descents
    2. Folks, one of the children of JAMES Bolling 1756VA-1826KY was a son ELI / Elijah born 1785 and known in Clay County history as BAD ELI Bolling. ELI married twice, the first NANCY ANDERSON. They had a daughter named NANCY. It is her descents I am tracking to get to the question to the lists. I need some marriage verification and explain. > Nancy Bowling 1808TN married Thomas Boone Roberts 1808, s/o Jesse Roberts & Nancy Anderson. Nancy had her fifth child a son born 1835KY. That child Washington also had two wives. > Washington Roberts 1835 married #1, Elizabeth Sizemore 1837, d/o Henry / Hunting Shirt Sizemore 1790 & Rachel Jones 1795. > Henry Sizemore 1790 was s/o George All Sizemore (1/2 Cherokee blood) & Agnes Aggie Shepherd Cornett (1/2 Cherokee blood). Rachel Jones of VA was d/o Wiley Jones of VA. > Washington ROBERTS also had two wives as he married #2 in 1863 who became the step mother of his first child JOHN Roberts born 1858KY. This #2 wife was Elizabeth Webb born 1844 KY. To this union were born twelve known children and are very noteworthy in the lineage. > Their fourth born child was DRUCILLA ROBERTS born in 1868. It is her marriage confirmations I seek. (Ten years after the birth of DRUCILLA was her younger brother (Judge) Rutherford / Rufus Roberts 1878 KY who married Eliza / Lizzie Bowling 1880 KY, d/o William Bowling & Mary Lewis.) > DRUCILLA died on 15 July 1967 in Yell County, Arkansas. She had been married to EDWARD HACKER born 1865 who also died then buried in Yell County, Arkansas in 1932 at age 66 or 67. Both DRUCILLA ROBERTS HACKER and Edward Hacker are buried at the MT. GEORGE Cemetery in Yell County, and can be reached from Danville or Centerville, ARK. Among their children was a CLARA Hacker. (More about this child later). In this cemetery is another burial a CANOR D. HACKER born 1886 - d. 1912, and I have no information of this person. (http://bethg.shutdown.com/yell/ymtgeorge.html) The big question I have, can anyone share any information about a reported marriage of DRUCILLA about 1886, 1887 to an Edward HENSLEY and reportedly had a child named Shedney Hensley born 1888 KY. A search of the 1870 CLAY County, Census has NOT produced any clue to this reported marriage, as no person named Edward Hensley is named. DRUCILLA was age 6 in August of 1870 when the census was recorded. This census can be seen at: > http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ky/clay/census/1870/p4sec1.txt Can anyone confirm such a marriage for DRUCILLA and a HENSLEY? I thank you for any assistance. 1. [KYBREATH-L] Polly NOBLE & John KIDD, Wolfe Co. KY 1820-1900
    2. Michael Burcham
    3. Looking for information on Polly Ann Noble Kidd, wife of John Samuel Kidd. I believe that Polly may be the daughter of John Noble and Sarah Talby, but looking for confirmation of that suspicion. I would also like to learn when and where Polly and John died. According to the 1850 census entry for John Noble, Polly Noble was born about 1837-38 in Kentucky. The book "Reconstructed Marriage Records for Breathitt County, Kentucky, 1839-1873" by Margaret Millar Hayes lists the marriage of John Kidd (age 32) to Polly Ann Noble (age 19) on June 26, 1857. The entry notes that John's first wife was Perlina Rose (died March 10, 1854), and the author speculates that Polly Ann is probably the daughter of John and Sarah. The 1860 Breathitt County Kentucky census lists Samuel Noble (son of John and Sarah) as household number 336. John Kidd is listed five entries later, in household 341. Polly Kidd (presumably his wife) is listed as age 20 with birthplace as Virginia. The 1870 Wolfe County Kentucky census lists John and Sarah as household number 49. John Kidd is listed four entries earlier, in household 45. Polly A. Kidd (presumably his wife) is listed as age 31 with birthplace as Kentucky. Polly's close proximity to Samuel and John in these census entries suggests a relationship between them. The 1880 Wolfe County Kentucky census lists John Kidd in Precinct #5, household 4. Polly is not listed living in John's household. Did she die between 1870 and 1880, or did they divorce? John and Polly's four youngest children are listed living with John. The 1900 Wolfe County Kentucky census lists John Kidd living in the household of his son Lige (Elijah) in Holly, household #135. John is listed as age 70, and once again Polly is not listed with him. Any additional information on this family, especially confirmation of Polly' s parents and John and Polly's death information, would be greatly appreciated. Mike Burcham

    3. Hello Molly, Thank you very much for responding to my posting. Any more information that you can give me regarding the Chapman family will be greatly appreciated. As an observation I can only conclude that John Floyd was born out of wedlock. Also, I have no information about Hannah. Possibly you have some details that you can provide. My father, Charles Edwin Frazier, died when I was only 18. His Father, Lucian Frazier, died way before I was even born (he was only 36). And Lucian was the son of Hannah and John. Thus there really is no one to fill in the past. If not maybe you can direct me to who might be able to add more information. Thank you again for responding. Chuck
