I found this sad note in the Dayton (Ohio) paper this morning. This gentleman was a wealth of information. Many of this list's Breathitt/Perry/Lee/Clay etc ancestors were part of his book and geneaology CDs. William G. O'Connor, 72, a longtime resident of Trotwood (OH) passed away peacefully Friday evening April12, 2002 at Hospice of Dayton. William had been a math and science teacher for over 30 years, having taught most of the time with the Trotwood-Madison Schools. He was also a veteran of the Korean Conflist, member and past president of the Civil Service Commission and was proud to have been a published author with his book, "Dozens of Cousins." William is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years Mary; son and his wife Samuel and Michelle of Miamisburg OH; daughter Kara E. O'Connor of Trotwood; special grandchild Alexander; sister Marie Smith of PA. And many more nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30am Tuesday at the Union Pentecostal Church 1100 N. Union Rd. where William was a member. Rev. Clifford Hurst presiding. Friends may wish to call at the Rogers Funeral Home, Trotwood on Monday from 5-8pm. If desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of William.

This is the obit for my beloved "Nana" who passed away a couple of weeks ago. It was extremely hard and sad but I wrote this obituary for the paper here in Ohio and also the Jackson paper. She was a native of Breathitt county and spent many hours there with her sisters. Kandy Agee Mary Geneva Lewis Garrison "Gen" passed away on Wednesday March 20, 2002. She had been a resident of Xenia Ohio since 1959 and a resident of Greenewood Manor in Xenia since December 1999. Gen began her life on December 3, 1916 in Guerrant Kentucky, the daughter of Calvin and Minerva Hensley Lewis. She graduated from Breathitt County Kentucky schools and attended Lee's College in Jackson Kentucky. It was during her college education that she met and fell in love with her best friend and partner for life, Donald V. Garrison. They were married January 27, 1941. They were inseparable and remained best friends and husband and wife until his death from cancer in 1982. Following completion of studies at Lee's College, the couple made their home in Kentucky and Florida and lived 4 years in Japan. Upon return to the States, the family resided in Lousiville Kentucky . She was a steadfast supporter of her husband during his education for dentistry at the University of Lousiville and was the office manager for his dental office in Xenia. Many of his patients "enjoyed" their trips to the dentist because of the sense of humor they brought to their office. Her laughter will be missed by so many. Gen was a wonderful mother to her three children, Donnis Garrison Back of Kentucky, Jane Garrison of Xenia, and Calvin (Wendy) Garrison of Wyoming as well as a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren, Kandy (Randy) Back Agee, Genny Back Osborne, Leslie Back Brownlee, and Amy Guckian Schafer of Xenia, Patrick (Amie) Guckian of Florida, Miles (Lisa) Back of Moraine Ohio, and Elaine and Jack Garrison of Wyoming. She was also a loving grandmother to her ten great grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Osborne, Shawn, Matthew, and Kella Brownlee, Andrew and Alex Schafer, Brendon and Amanda Back, and her newest addition Josephine Anna Guckian. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters Fannie Hayes, Flossie Little, Margaret Lewis, Emma Watkins and Edith Haddix, brothers, Tilford Lewis, Tom Lewis, John Lewis, Calvin Lewis, son-in-law Jerry Back, and great grandson Chad Brownlee. She is survived by brother Theo (Patsy) Lewis, sister Joyce (Lloyd) Combs, and sister-in-law Mary Ann Lewis, all of Xenia, brothers in law Kelly Watkins of Kentucky, Ross Haddix of Ohio and Lionel (Martha) Garrison of North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. Gen was loved and respected by all of her family and will be deeply missed. She was a pillar of strength and our lives were truly enriched by her love and devotion. The family wishes to express a sincere appreciation to the staff of Greenewood Manor for the care and attention Gen received. There will be a private graveside service with burial in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia Ohio. Neeld Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
