    2. Hi Wanda, My grandmother was Sarah Crawford she was adopted by Greens sister Surilda. I have always heard that Green was her father but because she was adopted there is no way to prove that. She was born the same day as Floyd Hatton Jan. 13, 1883. Her mother was never mentioned. I found Frank Cockerham on Sylvania death certificate, her daughter Golden was the informant. I think Golden married Bill Luke and Sylvania was living with them in 1951 when my grandma died. Richmond Phipps Radcliff, KY rhpps@aol.com

    3. Hi Richmond, Are we related? Our family always thought that Sylvany was my grandpa's half-sister, by Green, because he still fooled around after he and Hannah got md. I know Sylvany visited us all the time. And Woodrow lived with my grandparents for a while. How did you find out? 3. I need to make a correction.... I said earlier that Nathan Combs (married to Amanda Keene) was a brother to my great great grandfather. I should have said he was a brother to my great grandfather, John L Combs. (had one too many 'greats' in there:-) I just talked with my mom on the phone. She says that Nathan and Amanda did not have a child named Jemima that she knew of. Pearlie Combs (married to Seldon Combs) was the daughter of Harrison Combs and Jalia Spicer. Harrison's dad was a brother to Nathan. Jalia Spicer was the daughter Shade Spicer and Sally Ann ?. I will be going to Breathitt the latter part of next week. Mom and I will be working on our Combs information some more. Will be happy to share info..... Would you care to share your file on Richard Craig Combs. I would like to have it with me when I see my mom. A Combs reunion is held at Buckhorn Park (near the school and Spark's Store) the second Sunday in June. Most of the descendants there are from Richard Craig and Orlena Deaton line. I know there is a Golden Combs that lives in Buckhorn. She may very well be from the same line mentioned in Wanda's posting earlier.... (as the daughter of Nathan Combs and Sylvania Hatton). If I remember correctly ... she is an older lady. She comes to the reunion that is mentioned above. I will find out what I can next week. 2. Judy, Oscar & Nancy married 3 Jan 1908 Lee Co KY. They also had two other children that I know of, James Woodrow b ca 1911 & Fred b & d 1/31/1920. There was also a child named Seldon. The KBI lists a child name Seldon Combs born to Nancy Turner on 10/8/1915. The SSDI lists this Seldon as dying in Nov 1977 - KDI lists his as dying 11/13/1977 Breathitt Co Ky. 1. [KYBREATH-L] Chester Combs
    2. Chester Combs that m. Mary Russell is the son of Oscar Combs and Nancy Turner. After the death of Nancy, Oscar m. my aunt, Martha Spencer. Oscar and Martha had no children. Chester was the youngest child of Oscar and Nancy. Some of/or all of the other children were Tom, Ed, Wise, Mary Ellis, Stella, John and Duck [Duck was a nickname-I do not know his given name]. As for as I know Chester and Ed are still living. I am not sure about Wise. Oscar had brothers Pearl, Mace, Silas and a sister Joanna. Judy
