Fellow Researchers Anyone know if the Strong's Branch Cemetery is located in Breathitt Co? Also there is a Martha Neace d/o William Neace and Lettie Belle Fugate buried there. Someone has posted that Martha was married to both Chester Combs and Austin Combs. Does anyone know which Chester Combs this was. I have several Chester Combs without spouses. Walter Hill owned Standard Oil in Breathitt Co. for many years. I know that he was here in the early 50's. Lutie taught at Breathitt Co. High School and they had 1 son, Sammy. I know that Lutie was not from Breathitt Co and I am not sure that Walter was. I want to think that Lutie was from Madison Co., KY, but unsure of this. I do not recall another Hill family in Breathitt Co. during the time Walter and family were here. Judy

There is an affidavit from Thomas R. Haddix dated 8-3-1927 filed in the Civil War pension papers of Rebecca Chadwick that states that John Hill was coming down the North Fork of the KY river when his raft struck a pier of the railroad bridge and John’s body was never found. Mr. Haddix states that is happened on 1-1-1916. John H. Hill’s marriage to Rebecca shows him being from Lee Co., KY James T. Chadwick is my gggrandfather thru his oldest son, John. I have no proof to the middle name of James T. James T. had 9 children by his first wife and 7 children by his second wife, Rebecca. After Rebecca’s marriage to Griffith she married the same Brewer man twice. Rebecca d. in 1952. Judy
