TO ALL. I did write to my Representative and the following is what I recieved in response and I quote: "Dear Ms. Shamp: Thank you for contacting me regarding Internet charges. I appreciate you sharing your views with me. I believe that there is misinformation being spread to scare consujers regarding charges for Internet usage. A recent ruling by the Federal Communication Commission does not authorize increasing charges for Internet usage. The decision by the FCC revolves around the compensation strcuture for telephony companies that carry the Internet traffic over their networks. The compensation structure will now be reciprocated so that there is equatible revenues given to the proper networks that transmit the brunt of the Internet traffic. Unless you currently place a long distahce call(usually by dialing 1 plus a number) to your Internet Service Provider, you should not be billed any per minute usage by either your local or long distance telepone company. There are no efforts before Congress or the FCC to change this to allow telephone companies to inpose long distance fees for using the Internet. Thank you again for contacting me. With Kind regards, I am, Sincerely, Cliff Stearns United States Representative" This is what I recieved from my Florida State Representative. I am satisfied with this answer and wish that the people putting these messages on the lists would WRITE TO THEIR OWN REP'S and get the answer for themselves. Judy /shamp

Here's another one that's going around: Redneck Nativity (from a transplanted Northerner, obviously!) In a small Southern town there was a Nativity scene that showed that great skill and talent had gone into creating it. One small feature bothered me= .The three wise men were wearing firemen's helmets. Totally unable to come up with a reason or explanation, I left. At a Quick Stop on the edge of town, I asked the lady behind the counter about the helmets. She exploded into a rage, yelling at me. "You darn Yankees never do read the Bible!" I assured her that I did but simply couldn't recall anything about firemen in the Bible. She jerked her Bible from behind the counter, ruffled thru some pages, and finally jabbed her finger at a passage. Sticking it in my face she said, "See, it says right here, 'The three wise men came from afar.'" --part0_913602199_boundary--
hope you all like this one. Teddy
