Thanks Nancy it looks like at least one of these cemeteries is rite close to the Carpenter cemetery where I have Russell ancesters buried Bill Russell Russellsept1457@aol.com
Both cemeteries are in the Western part of Boyle County. Russell Cemetery #1 is on KY 37, near KY 1108 on a farm. Buried there are Caldwell, Hafley, Johnson, Royalty, Russell, Taylor, Webster, Mattingly, Shepperson family members. Russell Cemetery #2 is on Cocanougher Lane (off of US 150, west of Perryville). Buried are Russell, Reynolds, Key, Coyle family members. I own a copy of a book "Boyle County, Kentucky Cemetery Records, 1792-1992" compiled by the Boyle County Genealogical Association. This publication is the result of a lot of hard work on the part of some very dedicated people to preserve Boyle County heritage. I can only imagine some of the conditions and hazards they encountered in this quest! I can not furnish copies, but I will look up specific individuals if full names are known. With help like Diane is offering, you won't need it this time. However, you might want to bookmark for future reference the Cemetery Locator at <http://www.rootsweb.com/~kymercer/Locator/>. Compiled by Bettie Cloyd, Martha Long and Jim Miller of the Harrodsburg Historical Society over several years, it lists, with precise directions on how to get there, all the known cemeteries in central Kentucky, including those in Boyle County. My thanks to those that have responded to my earlier test message. It appears that I can send messages to the list, since I've gotten replies, (but I'm still awaiting the original message!). Earthlink and rootsweb are apparently on the outs (it's not just my email address that's bouncing)- it's been reported, so I am waiting (im)patiently for them to get their act together. In the meantime, if you need to contact me, messages directly to me at ldrbelties@earthlink.net are getting through, so feel free to contact me off-list. (I'm hoping this doesn't go on very long.) Thanks, Sherri Boyle County, KY mail list "mom"
Sorry, folks to do this, but I'm evidently being bounced off of several rootsweb lists today. (Earthlink and Rootsweb aren't playing nicely with each other.) Please, could someone let me know if they get this? (And if anyone has sent me a private message and I didn't respond, please send it again.) Thanks, Sherri
