Is this the appropriate place to request cemetery look ups? If so I would appreciate a look up for Henry.L.TEVIS. Buried in the cemetery just off Lexington Ave in Danville... believe it is called Danville National Cemetery. Is there anyway to get gravesite location within the cemetery? Also can anyone advise where I can get a look up in Hustonville (sp ?) ...think that is Casey Co? Do not know cemetery name. Trying to find gravesite for Loraine F. TEVIS, nee COMBEST. Thanks in advance... if I am off base just let me know. Ron K.

In the 1880 Marion Co. Census, I'm showing a Sinkhorn family living in Bradfordsville. I could not locate them in Marion Co. in any other Census records. If not, who was his first wife?

My gg-grandparents were Martin Van Buren Smith and Peachie Mae Curtis who married in 1890 in Marion Co., KY. Until I was able to obtain this marriage license a year or so ago and saw that this was Buren's second marriage, I'd assumed that he'd only been married once. Peachie Mae Curtis's sister, Joan Curtis, was married to William Sinkhorn, so it was no surprise that he had signed on Peachie & Buren Smith's marriage license. My mom stumbled across the marriage certificate for M. Van Buren Smith and Annie S. Sinkhorn in the Marion Co., KY courthouse, as well. An older distant family member vaguely remembered being told as a child that Buren Smith had been married to a Sinkhorn before marrying my gg-grandmother. Through the help of some people on various message boards (thank you Ken Bunch & others), I found out that Annie Sinkhorn's parents were Ezekiel Johnston and Mary Kirkland. I also found out that Annie had a brother named William--I just couldn't prove that this was the William Sinkhorn that married Peachie Curtis's sister. This has truly made my day!!
Dear Nancy, Could I trouble you for the Shepperson (Eppersons?) and Russell (Rossel?) graves? The spelling of family names suffered some peculiar changes over time... 8^) We are wrestling with the Ison/Isom/Isham and Gardner families in Boyle/Garrard/ Washington Counties of KY. They married into the Epperson, Rosel/Rossel/Russel, Taylor, Thompson, Phelps, Agerton/Edgerton, Askins and Beasley families. Any clues you can share would be most gratefully received. And if you are interested in any of the families listed above, I'll gladly share with you. Rosanne, I've lived in the area of Boyle co and Danville for 30 years and have never heard abt a slave auction house. There is a historical area known as Constitution Square that has a lot of historical buildings on it that are either original or reproductions. There is also the Old Crow Inn on Stanford avenue. I can check the library for you. Let me know. The 1880 census of Boyle County, Danville, shows her parents, Thomas and Laura (Gray) West as a farmer and keeping house. The older siblings are Richard (11), Minnie (4), and John (3/12). Then, in the 1900 census I find the father, Thomas West as head of house, (Laura is not there), John is 18, Ed is 14; and Elizabeth (17 years old) is now married to Thomas Clem (23 years old). Thomas and Elizabeth Clem are living with her father's family. All list their birthplace as KY.
