They may be the parents of an Elizabeth b 1834/35 who married John Cooley, 2 sons, move to Boyd co KY, after war married Peter Cooley, 2 more sons. Elizabeth Cooley is listed in 1860 and 1870 census as Elizabeth Steele Cooley but a letter dtd 1857 Winchester Va from Dorcus to "dear daughter" mentions Lizy, little son, and Peter, raising the possibility that Steele is Elizabeth's middle name not her surname as previously supposed. There is no other reason for this letter to have been saved in my family. Does anybody know anything about any of these people?
