Mark: What kind of information can you find with only someone's name? How often have you found a link in your family tree with only the parents names? It isnt hard to guess a birth year from the pattern of other children being born to a couple. It seems to me, that if someone was persistant enough and was willing to spend the money, they would/could sooner or later get a birth certificate of the person you had listed, even without any other information. We don't have the criminal mind it takes to do something like stealing someone's ID, but there are plenty of people out there that do. I have read cases in the newspapers about people making a "living" doing that sort of thing! What sickos. I always leave it up to a family member whether to be included or not. Afterall, the web viewers may not get to know their name, but I have everything in my gedcom file, and to me, that's what counts.
