Sexton The Portsmouth Times, Wednesday, May 18, 1938, page 10 [OHS N297-v233, dcp 2004] Mrs. Nellie Sexton Following an eight-week illness, complications caused death today at 1:30 a.m. for Mrs. Nellie Elizabeth Sexton, 37, of 1921 Mabert road. Mrs. Sexton was born Jan. 15, 1901, in Rowan county, Ky., a daughter of Alfred and Mary Dinnis [sic] Manning. Her mother came from Montgomery county, Ky., and her father came from Morgan county. Mrs. Sexton was a member of the M. E. church of Ringos Mills [Fleming county], Ky. Besides one son, Willard Sexton at home, surviving are a brother, Robert Manning of Sily, Wis., and two sisters, Mrs. Bertie Kesseck, 1921 Mabert road, and Mrs. Rose Baird of Goddard, Ky. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Emrick's funeral home with Rev. O. A. Rexroade in charge. Burial will be in Ashland. The body has been taken to the residence, 1921 Mabert road, but will be taken back to the funeral home Friday.
